depends if there's a buying limit per character like one per person and such. depending how much work ya put into the adoptable character it can be a auction character.

Stories are not needed but sometimes fun, though at the same time some people like giving their own stories. There are no real rules for it as far as I know. Some people set their adopts at cheaper prices to make them more available to others, others set them at a higher price as that is what they believe they are worth/are just in need of the money from the sale. And then you have others that will sell via auction and offer bonus sketches or other such bonuses if it reaches a certain amount. -shrugs- Its really just all up to you.

It's your stuff, it's your rules. There's no set rules as to how you're supposed to or are allowed sell the things you draw.

Think of them as physical objects. You put them in display(make a submission), put a price on them(ie. We can buy it for a set price, or you can sell it to the highest bidder.), and the person who ends up buying it can have it for themselves to use.

I'd recommend numbering them or naming them so people can claim them easily & you know what one they're talking about. I also recommend stating that you won't do holds unless you will, of course. When you put the price, it's be nice if you put USD or CAD or whatever the currency might be cause sometimes you might end up not getting what you want. You might state if it's FCFS (first come-first served) or not. Also, maybe that payment must be recieved within 24-48 hrs (or however long you're willing to wait) before adopt will be left unclaimed. Some people put rules such as, 'don't resell for more than you bought it for', 'don't resell', you may repost, but you must credit me for the art & design', & even the steps to the process for folks who have never bought one before...
- Clearly claim that you want >insert # or name of adopt here<
- Only claim if you can pay withing 24 hours
- I will comment to approve you may adopt, then will not you my paypal info.

Stuff like that. It kinda helps to make the process smoother for everyone.

They're making it sound more complicated than it is lol You post the critters here, people bid on them in the comments, the winner pays by Paypal, and that's pretty much it.

That's the basic concept, yes, & that's fine until someone does something that confuses or frustrates you. Then you're going to wish you had a bit of a guideline. Unless you don't mind being unorganized, of course. (=
I also want to be clear that it was advice. I don't want anyone to think that I was thinking "Oh you must do this because it IS a good idea."

i personally dislike the recolored line style adoptables, and have found that original designs seem to sell pretty well ESPECIALLY if they have a story

D'aww. I follow a few adopt accounts. Ever think of making an alternate account just for adopts? I really like how you don't do bases.

I did, but since I do them so rarely it didn't seem too necessary! i figure my watchers can skip over a submission or two if they're not interested XD
