Greetings!
At long last, I'm finally giving my longest, and long-languishing, story a good work-over. Journeying Within is definitely my largest piece, but it's also my oldest, and some parts of it make me cringe now. Taking to heart the many comments I've received over the years, I'm going to tackle two major issues: dialogue and continuity. Hopefully when it's done it will be a much better, tighter story, and one I can be proud of again.
The sad thing is, I actually wrote most of Journeying in native HTML. The trouble is, I can't UPLOAD an HTML file, because so many jerks use that technique to cause trouble. Which is really sad, since, as it was INTENDED to be, HTML is a decent, low-investment markup language, and more than adequate for the structure and formatting I needed here.
So, in a curious backwards progression, I've completed a structural conversion of the text back to WordPerfect, and set up some styles, a title page, TOC, and all that good stuff. Ultimately I'll export it to PDF, which is an allowed format here. The irony is that I originally wrote the first drafts of this tale WAY back when with WP 5.1 for DOS. So, now it's come full-circle.
And to all the jerks ruining the internet for the rest of us - you SUCK!
Rochndil, always the eloquent one...
