It's just quite strange how some people have amazing art talent and get passed by so easily.

No offense to them but I see some artists that don't sell the best quality even sell a ton. I guess it's just exposure and what they're willing to draw.

honestly I'm thinking about making an ad but I don't want to invest the time and money to it if everyone's going to ignore it anyways

Same ;; I know EXACTLY how you feel their. It really makes me feel unimportant >.< One of the reasons I am no longer doing art on WH aswell. WH is very "popularity" based. I have atleast a small chance here. ;; You should make an ad!

that's exactly how I feel. Person X is doing recolors for $5 and everyone wants one. I'm drawing custom stuff for $1 or $.50 and nobody wants it, no matter if it's WH or here. It kind of makes me doubt my art skills to be honest. :/

Honestly, it's understandable that you aren't getting many commissions here; you only joined january 2nd. That's not enough time to build a fanbase of loyal customers, and people aren't likely to trust you because you don't have a long list of satisfied customers. Doing the commissions you have in a timely, efficient manner will not only a) speak for itself and b) recommend others to you, because some people repost art to their own accounts(which will give you publicity), or will recommend you to others by word of mouth because of their experience with you.

I've been struggling with the same feeling. I'm not even sure how to begin getting exposure beyond 1) drawing porn, 2) buying ad(s), 3) doing freebies, or 4) commenting/fave'ing triple what I already do. This is probably true for a lot of new users, especially the ones that don't already have a network of FA friends before joining the site. It's depressing watching the work you're most proud of, or learned a lot from, go unnoticed in favor of someone's 5-minute MSPaint sonic porn (no offense).

On a side-note, most people probably don't even see advertisements due to ad-blockers. An Ad-blocker is nearly necessary, because there are too many sites on the internet that are ruined by ads, and too many dangerous or invasive advertisements.

I hope you find a solution to your woes, because you deserve it.
