New Sax=Happy Weasel (Or some other bull like that)
Finally, after many years of practice, years of heart break and a few months of searching and pulling teeth for the money, I now have a really fucking awesome saxophone.
Today, I just payed the final bit of what I owed for a Selmer Paris Super Action 80. Now, by no means is this that "ideal" saxophone I wanted (i.e. a Selmer Mark VI), HOWEVER, this saxophone is very close to what I wanted. It is made by the same company, it's a bit older but in great condition, and its acoustic build is to die for. This sax was by far worth the four G's I dumped into it.
The store I got it (Horn Trader off of Western and Reno) was also awesome enough to repair my old saxophone. And by repair, hol shit did they repair it! Not only did they recork it, which is a huge pain in the ass, but they also repaired the goose neck cause it got squished and replaced ten pads. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but considering repadding a tenor completely costs $500 alone and they nearly replaced half of them for only a hundred makes it a HUGE deal. They are definitely the coolest people in the world. They made my old tenor sing like lark and my Selmer sing like bird of paradise.
All in all, today was amazing just from my new saxophone. I played it in a Wal-Mart parking lot with a friend and some of his friends and I loved it so much. It presents its own set of new challenges, but it is still far more tonal and responsive than my old sax.
I will post pictures sometimes later, maybe tomorrow.

Oh, and I have something that Ox gave me to give to you for your sax. I forget what they are, but I'll give them to ya if you're coming to the art jam/furbowl. :3
