A week away from my birthday
I'm starting a war for peace.
Well it's a week away from my birthday, am I excited for it? Not really, it's not a major milestone birthday not like 40 (which is still a few years away) but a birthday nonetheless. I was hoping I would have done a little bit more by now but I really haven't.
I am thankful however for the friends I have met along the way in the furry fandom, you are the ones that make it worth getting out of bed and rolling each day for me. I know I would love to set and achieve a few goals in the next 3 years before I hit the big 4-0, here's what I would love to achieve in that time.
1. Actually find a job that is going to pay me more than what I am making now in my current job.
2. Catch up on bills after getting said new job.
3. Save some money back for upcoming furcons any or all but two major ones I would love to attend one being AC because I've been threatened (jokingly mind you) by a friend if I don't attend that they would come kidnap me and take me to it, and the second one is go back to MFF (I definitely would like to make MFF an annual trip) I had fun at it last year as it was my first con ever and I got to meet a couple of my friends on here and make a load of new ones while there.
4. Try and get a couple of my stories I have written up published if possible?
5. I want to save back some money and have a custom inflatable toy made, possibly a second one if people would be interested in it as well.
6. I also want to save money back and get a fursuit made for Than at least. I would also like one of Tico as well, but it's not a major priority like Than's suit.
Also I found out as I have talked to a couple of my close fur friends that I am getting to that stage in my life that I am sick and tired of keeping my love for inflatables and now plushies as well and being a fur to myself and only having a small fraction of people who are in my life who know of my lifestyle. I want to just come out and tell the rest of my family and friends about them instead of keeping this locked away.

So... you are going to be 37 next week??? Man.. what interesting thing.. hehehe... My birthday is in two weeks (23rd) .. And I'm also going to be 37 !!! hehe isn't that weird? :P hahahaha *More hugs*
Hopefully you'll get to do the things that you want in your list...
As for point 1, well.. it kinda helps or solves points 2, 3, 5 and 6 (stupid money being the cause of most of our life issues >.< :: )
Regarding point 3... It would be awesome that you could go to AC (I already have plans to go this year too ^^ ) or that you friends can actually kidnap you and take you there (go fellas!!!), and for MFF too, it was great meeting you there, and I'm also planning on making it to MFF this year ^^
And lastly, as for the telling to family and friends about your lifestyle, well.. I do know the feeling, had it for some time myself.. but if I can advice something... start we some friends, the ones that you know you can trust that will have no big issues and are open minded... it makes things easier, at least you can see how people will react and also will have someone that can support you in case telling other might not end well. As far as family, think really well what and how much you want to tell them, cause some things can't be undone, cause generating big family might or might not be worth it.. I guess it depends on how open and supportive the family is. Sometimes at least having close friends that knows and support is good enough ^^
Ok.. ok.. too much bla bla bla... hehehe... (always end up doing this kinda stuff.. too long responses :P)
Take care, have fun.. and remember to be happy ^^
Well my mom already knows about me being a fur and into inflatables, she was the first person from my family to find out when I told her and she took both surprisingly well. I have a slight suspicion that my sister might know about me bing a fur, she found out from our mom when I was at MFF she had asked her where I was going to for a few days and our mom tried explaining the best she could. My sister still baffled at trying to think of what furries were God bless my 18 year old nephew who explained to her what furries were. Haha! My nephew still surprises the shit out of me even after 18 years! I love that kid!
I have several close friends who know of my fetish for inflatables and they've all accepted it with open minds and have supported it, now if I can tell them about being a fur? The one person I want to tell but am nervous about telling is my dad! *looks around worried and whimpers*
My dad is old fashioned to say the least he had a fit when I got my ear pierced for the first time, he threw a fit when I started getting more piercings in time and he really got pissed when I got my tattoo but he's always gotten over these little things with time. I have a slight feeling he might know about my love for inflatables because I remember when I first got my first custom toy (the G&G palomino) , I got it used from a friend online. I was 25 at the time still living at home and I had got home from work and my package was sitting in the kitchen along with my parents and my dad starts ripping into me about the toy saying I was too "old" to be playing with kids toys anymore and that it was a "waste" of my money".
FYI; he did open my package for good reason. When I received it the box was not in the best of shape and tapped up to no end, my dad opened it to check if it was a safe and legit package (this was shortly after the post 9/11 terrorist attacks via mail with anthrax) so you can see my dad's point there.
When I moved out of my parents house I still had a cardboard box filled with some cheaper and mostly unused inflates along with my Giga ball that got thrown out as my patents were in the process at the time trying to sell their house. I was pissed that that box got thrown out because I didn't care for anything in that box except for my Giga ball!
So yeah I'm a little nervous to come out and tell him about my furry lifestyle, I know I will have my mother for support backing me up, but like I said my dad is old fashioned and he most likely wont understand or accept my lifestyle at my age in life. I love my dad don't get me wrong but we have never been close because when my sister and I were growing up our dad was always working or on the road with his job so our mom practically raised us and I am far more closer to my mom. So, if I do end up telling my dad and he throws a fit over this and decides to disown me (which I don't foresee him doing), but if he does for some reason it won't be that big of a deal I think for me. I guess I will have to swallow my fears and bite the bullet on this.
Oh and it was Inola who was going to kidnap me for AC!
Okay enough of my long winded reply lol! I will definitely try and have a good birthday and thanks again in advance for the wishes Vix! *hugs back and licks*
As for your desire to tell others and let them know your lifestyle.. what you just told me, pretty much sounds like you have told a lot of people already and you are basically out to many and maybe closer to where you want to be (if not there already). The fact that your mother knows and it is ok with it its awesome by itself. hehehe and your nephew sounds amazing too.. hehehe.
As for telling your dad... let's be honest... do you really need to tell him everything you are or do?? Even if you told him, and whether he throws a fit or not, do you think that you are going to talk to him in a frequent basis about furriness and inflatables?? Do you think he will be comfortable with it, or even if it is something he would gladly talk about or ask you how was your day in your furry trip or inflatables activities?
The reason why I am saying this, is because I remember Uncle Kage saying something like... you don't have to tell everybody about your personal life. Most people don't even tell others about their hobbies, desires or personal interests. and I'm talking about "normal" people sharing "normal" things, so imagine other not so common and easily accepted interests :P
I do understand the feeling someone looks for when parents or people close to us know about what we are and they are happy with it. It is indeed a nice and great feeling. But I can guarantee that your Dad loves you a lot just by knowing you for what he knows, and not knowing other things won't make that more or less important or good as it is now. For example when my brother told my dad that he was gay my dad said he loved him a lot, that he is still his son and he is proud and nothing really would change between them. But that he preferred not to hear any details or at least to know as few as possible (my dad is a bit old school and a bit close minded but open enough to care for his family).
Just a humble comment and point of view on my behalf. I don't seek to trouble you and specially not to make you feel attacked or bad in any way. If I offended you at all for my comments, I apologize in advance.
I wish you the best in your path to achieve happiness and good luck in whatever you decide ^^ *Big Panda Hugs*
This is the reason why I love having furry friends, they can share their similar thoughts and feelings on similar matters. And very sage advice from Uncle Kage as well!
And yes, I would love for my foxy to kidnap me for AC! I wouldn't put up much of a fight there! LOL!
Again thank you Vix for your kind words of advice, they are always appreciated.
*hugs back* ^^
Always glad to help someone ^^ I'm happy that my thoughts or comments can actually have a purpose.. yeay!!! ^^
Hope to see you soon.. and specially at AC ^^
its late and obviously this is gonna make no sense so I will try again tomorrow....
guess what gonna be suiting in a few weeks at a horse expo but i can't find a handler..and frankly that scares me cause its not real safe.
ok will rewrite this another time
Hey, that will be awesome sounds like it will be a lot of fun to going suiting there! If I was up there I'd be your handler for the day.
And thank you for the early bday wishes as well! *hugs you back*
