I got a citation for parking in the street when a snow emergency was declared in Royal Oak. I was written the ticket at 13:42. According to the official city of Royal Oak web site, the information was posted at 8:22 am stating that the snow emergency was declared at 5:40 AM. When I looked online to see if it would be okay to park in the street this morning at 7:45 AM (when my room mate woke me up to drive him to work), the information was not posted. I did a Google search and I followed a chain of links to get to the page:

http://www.ci.royal-oak.mi.us/porta.....cy-information
Upon clicking on the home page link, I found that the information was not posted. Later, it was posted here:
http://www.ci.royal-oak.mi.us/porta.....gency-declared
Now, the citation states that it is a Code: I Snow Emergency, which I can only assume means they are referring to Priority One Status: http://www.ci.royal-oak.mi.us/porta.....cy-information
• Priority One Status
This covers snow of up to 4 inches. All major arterial streets such as 12 Mile Road are salted by special routes 24 hours a day as
required.
This is NOT an arterial street and the snow was NOT more than 3 inches. The news said we were to get between 6-8 inches and we got nowhere near that.
