As some of your know I just got a job at a bakery in a grocery store. In normal areas there might be some(a lot) of breathing time in a bakery, but since I'm in a high tourist area I have discovered tonight that that will not be the case. haha
I worked a total of 6 hours and I swear I did the same amount of walking as I would at like... Anthrocon. My feet are soooore.
And there's all this machinery to work and it's like @w@;;; AHHHH
I'm SO FUCKING THANKFUL when customers are understanding of me not knowing shit yet, and then also kinda wanna throw a tin-can at the ones who give me a "UHG" bitch face. Chill bro. I'll get your donuts as soon as I can find the button of donuttiness. :I
Thankfully there was this other girl with me starting the same day, because the SECOND our supervisor went to break, like, 5 wild people appeared wanting cakes and we hadn't had that all day so we didn't know where the cake boxes were. ;n; ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
BUT!
With the power of TEAMWORK (and puppy-eyeing deli workers) we were able to figure that shit out! We did it huzzay!
Sucks though that my next training/work day is on VALENTINES... which totally means the bakery will be even more busy>
And THEN during the summer tourist season... oh my. Oh my oh my. If THIS is just the snow birds.

its amazing the differences in people, some are so generous and understanding when there's literally a line out the door and others are apparently blind to us running around like chickens trying to get their order together.
You see food service differently once you've worked there, thats for sure.

I walk around and lift shit and carry stuff and press buttons and load food all day and I can tell you that everyday it gets easier and easier. Sure, you'll have some days where everything goes wrong but those are few and far between.
