as for the art, i know its frustrating when you dont get the feedback you are wanting, but is that what art really is? Or is art creating something amazing for the joy of knowing you are putting something out there that others will see and enjoy? remember that you are a good artist, and sometimes there will be quiet moments where there is no feedback. just keep drawing for the joy of it, the rest will follow. Also i know I do, and others do, look at the thumbnail and say "oh cool, that looks good" and dont really think to comment ya know? -hugs- you are a great artist, dont give up for something like this

Well that is one sad truth. But it is exactly that. Truth.

See, I mean feedback on what I could do better. I don't enjoy putting out art that nobody else enjoys. That's like giving a child black licorice when they ask for caramel. NOBODY WANTS TO BE THAT HOUSE ON HALLOWEEN. That's what I need feeback on. And it is a big part of art, knowing what others think and opening up to new ideas. Nobody would enjoy just sitting there drawing the same things, they'd want to try new things or wonder what they could improve upon, but it's kind of like smelling your own scent. You can't because you're used to it. I wouldn't give up on art completely, either. Leaving FA is really nothing, I've done it before multiple times and been coaxed back by friends. I just think that relying on an art community for feedback shouldn't be a lot to ask for.

If you want porn, tell me how to draw porn and I'll try. I don't like to do personal art. I feel no connection with the characters I draw because I make up ALOT and they usually fade with time. That's why I don't do a lot of personal art.

You may want to take another look at the numbers, and focus on the Faves rather than Views.

You left the pic up for half an hour before you drew conclusions. Have more faith in your work.

Faith in the work is not as low as faith in the community.

The conclusion is based on more than one occasion, also.

And I'd love to explain more about why I find views equally as important as faves, but I just don't feel like it. xD

I personally don't even view/favorite sexually based artwork (for personal reasons), and whatever is seen through the thumbnails in my new submissions area is deleted without another opinion towards doing so. Unfortunately, as tentenpiemaster had stated, sexual content is what is viewed the most on FurAffinity, whether its of a less than desirable quality or not. However, this aspect is pretty much the case for most art based communities, and is something that most budding and known artists have come to just deal with.

As for the feedback... I try to refrain from providing critiques on drawn artworks, for two main reasons: One, I am really unsure if any artist I am viewing art from is even willing to receive critiques on their submissions (I have actually seen quite a few artists who specifically state NOT to critique), and two, I really have no overall quality in my own drawn pieces (none of which are submitted, due to how bad they are), so I can't say I have the proper know-how to provide a reasonable critique to drawn art (writing, on the other hand, being my 'art' with the highest quality, is quite easy for me to critique).

Just my two cents on this topic. Not getting a high amount of views on relatively normal artworks, with the views instead moving to the artwork based on porn or fetishes, is an extremely stressful thing that a large amount of artists have to deal with to stay in most communities, as is the lack of quality feedbacks/critiques on said art.

I completely understand how things like this can get old, and rather quickly at that. Unfortunately, its one of the near impossible thing to stop in communities as a whole, not just writing communities, drawing communities, or video production communities... Hell, its not even secluded to just the internet; Everything related to sex, whether on the internet or in real life, will always get the majority of attention... Its unfortunate, but its just how things are, especially nowadays with all the sexual innuendos in the "hit music," and the bad examples of the current generation's "idolized" pop stars. >>;

And I understand, it drives me crazy. And I usually don't complain publicly. I can be kind of whiny sometimes when it builds up. But I agree with everything you've just said. I just find it unfortunate.

Tapp come on, you know you're art is amazing. You know you're quality is way up there. You also have to take into consideration the time of day you submitted the art.
