Crisis averted, Also first gun purchase
So my guy at the local gamestop store set things straight to a satisfactory degree. I didn't lose any of my pre-orders nor any money put in to them, and everything is all set so this hopefully does not happen again.
These guys are the only reason why I didn't boycott the store, and I made sure that I told them that.
In other news I made my first gun purchase. Was pretty nervous about it at first, but I did some looking around and had favored the Taurus Judge/Defender line. But once at the store I ended up going with the S&W Governor. Felt better when holding it. I also start my first gun safety and handling class in the beginning of March.
Also, A bird just hit my window while I was typing this up. So, that's an awesome omen to have.

FA+

S'good to hear you got those games back ordered though. I still say PC gaming is better but whatevs. :P
But I've always had an interest in firearms, revolvers and bolt action especially. It just made sense to me that my first purchase be a personal self defense thing.
And good on'ya for the safety class. Knowing about guns and how they function, and respecting what a firearm is, is the best way to prevent accidents. Remember the three cardinal rules - Never point it in an unsafe direction (Unless in self defense), Finger off the trigger at all times till you're ready to fire, and always assume they're loaded ^_^
Congratulations again!
I recommend the federal handgun plated buckshot stuff if you intend to carry. Don't even fuck around with anything that uses birdshot in it like the winchester PDX stuff. 45 colt is kinda pricey, so save your brass, it's worth it to reload. .45 auto is not as pricey, but good luck finding it in panic buying that's currently going on.
Overall, very fun gun. Don't dry fire it, can lead to the firing pin deforming.
Also, either get one of these...

Or prepare for the moon clips to eat your fingers. Taking an old shoelace and wrapping it around the base of the brass and through the center of the clip will help with removing spent casings from them though. Otherwise, prepare to use tupperware to transport ammo pre-clipped to and from the range.
And the gov will only eat 2.5"ers, so avoid 3"ers.
