Observation

My last and only journal entry is 8 months old. Damn. So here's a random observation on the creation of adult artwork:
Despite your best efforts, when engaging in the process of creating pornography, you'll often find yourself surprised by the amount of time spent detailing mundane things like bed posts and street lamps. I'm fairly certain that, regardless of past experiences, this surprise will never get old.

Drawing backgrounds allows you to show scenes and settings that would otherwise be implausible.
Just look at your last image, if you weren't willing to draw that bed, then that picture would likely not exist.
I avoid them like the plague too, I suppose it's something you start working on when you're satisfied with the core of your work.
No use putting cream on a pancake that tastes like warmed up dough.
It's sort of the same way in writing too. While people don't necessarily get bent out of shape about background details being sketchy in furry writing, it can really enhance the experience if the writer weaves those details in skillfully. Though the interaction is the focus, the "little things" of establishing the background do contribute a lot, and I likewise find that figuring out how to craft that background and present it in a way that's interesting (and enhances rather than distracts from the flow of the story) can take quite a while. xD
Creative pursuits can be interesting things!
