Post Ball Analysis!

Wow! That was intense and wonderful and magical and lots of other words!
After a day spent panicking and getting ready we set off to a restaurant called The Grill, situated in the art deco white tower casino building in Blackpool. We decided to travel in by train and some harassment from a drunk man shocked Simon and started my evening off full of nerves. He yelled "I bet they aren't yours!" at me in the middle of the carriage, referring to my boobs. Normally this doesn't happen as much when I'm with someone but unfortunately being dressed for a ball made my cleavage extra obvious.
From the station we got a taxi and the driver was wonderful. He complemented us on our clothes and dropped us outside the restaurant. We were a good 15 minutes early and waiting for the rest of the party to arrive felt like forever. I was absolutely terrified. But Si, as always, held my hand and told me I would be fine and that I looked beautiful. Despite spending hours getting ready I still wasn't happy with how I looked. I am loosing weight but the extra I gained is still very noticeable to me. Mostly because I don't look or feel like myself. Hence me hating mirrors and photographs. I don't recognise myself in them. Anyway, The other 18 turned up for the dinner looking amazing in their finery. The ladies were beautiful and the men looked dapper. Si, of course, out shone them all in his tailcoat, looking every part the perfect Prince Charming.
Dinner was lovely and I sat next to a wonderful girl called Alice. One of the most naturally beautiful women I have ever seen, with an amazing smile and a wonderfully sweet personality. The conversation flowed really well and there were no awkward pauses.
After dinner we caught taxis to Blackpool Tower, as the ball was being held in the Tower Ballroom. All of the advertising, the invitations and tickets had said that this was a black tie event. However, there were people in fancy dress and a couple in jeans and hoodies but the doormen didn't seem to care and let them all in. Inside the ballroom it was packed. There were hundreds of people and even the balconies were full. At this point I was clinging to Si for dear life as I have not been around so many people in so, so many years. I hadn't had a drink at this point and I decided it would be good idea to try and relax. After a few glasses of white wine and being seated in such a magical place with by far the most handsome man in the room it began to happen. Chatting with Si's friends and watching the people dance was wonderful. Unfortunately the first time we took to the floor my mew shoes were so slippery we couldn't do a foxtrot. I got so very angry with myself, feeling I was ruining Si's evening but after going outside for a cigarette and some calming words for my beloved I relaxed again and when we re-entered the ballroom the floor show had begun.
There was fan dancing, true burlesque (i.e. comedy), musical numbers and at one point naked men. Which was something I definitely hadn't expected. But it was done tastefully at least.
Towards the end of the night we join a 100 person line as the band played the conga. Afterwards we stayed on the dance floor and slow danced. I have never felt so much like a princess. Dancing with a handsome man in tails, wearing a gown with the lights playing off the beautiful Victorian décor. It was truly wonderful. All my fears just melted away and suddenly it was just Simon and I.
Other interesting happenings: A drag queen told me she was jealous of my rack. We taught another couple how to foxtrot. A drag king asked to be photographed with my cleavage and many other silly things.
Now, I don't what the quality of the photographs will be but believe me I will get some posted up as soon as I receive them.
I love you all.

P.S. I am still feeling exhausted from being around so many people but it was worth it.
