My boyfriend is trans*, and my family refuses to call him by the proper pronouns, and keep calling him 'it'. (Not to mention they pretend I'm not in a relationship)
That's really awful. It still surprises me when parents react this way. I have a few friends here IRL in a similar situation, they had to move across the country to get away. I hope that you can soon put distance between you and the problem. *hug*
I want to, I want to so, so bad. I hate getting screamed at, I hate being called a worthless good-for-nothing and I hate being hit.
More than that, I hate hearing my boyfriend being called 'trash' or a 'thing' or a 'heshe'. So far it's taken a lot of my willpower to not punch whichever parent in the mouth.
If you're under 21 it might be worth looking into talking with the authorities about this, it really sounds like it could be handled legally. This would get you away from them.
