Thank you I shall. Have to anyways with my asthma flaring up as it has been for 3 weeks straight now. It's just starting to clear up a litttle but still makes me need to walk slowly or I'd have to stop and catch my breath.

you just missed a lot of overblown drama, which caused an exodus of many artists over to weasyl, which is no longer closed beta status. just in case you wondered... :P

why? What happened?

it all started with user XYZ, who found herself stalekd not only on DA and everywhere, but suddenly on FA, too, with posting of personal info, stories with questionable content (which in some countries might have been a death threat) and all that. we don't know what other measures XYZ undertook, but she filed a trouble ticket with FA. it seems to have gone unnoticed for weeks. so she made a call-out journal with all info she could gather.
said journal was deleted without notice by some admin. no "we had to delete this due to TOS, but we'll be looking into things" or something; nothing. so, to XYZ it looked like FA admins ignored or even tolerated stalking... freaked out she made another jounral explaining things, including her leave from here (weasyl has gone to open beta status the day before). after some prodding and accusations Dragoneer admitted that the handling of the situation was bad, but also that they can't do anything to actions done off-site.
meanwhile, Quarrezel announced her leave due to these things, and so did many others.
around that time some FA user asked hackers to "bring FA down" or something, on some other social network. he got perma-banned for it (so much for off-site actions), and the stalker got banned, too.

but people are leaving left and right (many are just announcing their weasyl account, though), throwing accusations at the FA staff (while it was the fault of a few), and generally act pissed.

thus, if you see such journal entries, it's maybe but an afterglow of the dramastorm that went on...

while I doubt weasyl will be forever free of drama.

wow. Well that is not going to stop me from using this site. People need to remember that there are way too many people on here to be able to take care of everyone's complaints. That said the admins should have a system in place that allows things like that to go to the top of the list.

with any luck they are working on it. also, maybe they'll take a closer look at any call-out journals, in case there is something like real-life stalking going on they maybe can take care of.
I mean, delete the "aww, art theft" stuff, that is most often not a real crime, or any other petty problem... but there are real issues sometimes.

Seems to me jumping ship is just trading one problem for another. Give it time and weasyl will have the same thing. Love you icon though!

I imagine the same. people are people,. furries even more so, and drama will stay drama. you can't change people by re-naming their playground...

poor weasyl staff doesn't know what might be waiting for them at the horizon.
