If you do this just know that you might not be getting all the PSN messages sent to you, they only appear on the console that is online at the time the message is received. Just found out I was missing free gifts and friend requests cause if it.

The PlayStation servers are probably overwhelmed because of the hype around the PlayStation 4 conference earlier today.
No, this actually has happened for years. I noticed I didn't get random messages and invites that were years old. I only noticed yesterday cause my friend got the $10 voucher message under my PSN ID on his system but it never showed up on mine. Then I read up on the issue and that seems to be the case. I guess it's not much of an issue for Sony since they expect consoles with your ID are yours so you'd never miss the messages, they're stored on the hard drive, not server side.
