WTF is with the new Firefox??? EDITED
General
I use Firefox as my only web browser. I was having problems with it crashing at startup the last 2 days, so I downloaded the new version, 19.whatever. And now it works fine, except it includes some sort of yahoo toolbar and adds a bunch of stuff under a menu bar listing of yahoo. Anyone know how to turn this off or get a version without yahoo crap installed? Thanks.
EDIT: I got it fixed with help from several online. Not sure why 18 was crashing but it all seems ok now. Thanks!

look under addons, there you should be able to uninstall the toolbar. seems like youwalked into the little trap of yahoo, during teh install of Firefox, there was a small little box to lock or unlock fpr yahoo stuff. i hate when companys do such shit

Ok, I'll look. I did the custom install, and don't remember seeing what you speak of, but I know what you mean, and I thought there should have been such a option, as I would have unchecked that sucker in an instant.

Count yourself lucky. I got version 18 a little while ago, now some of my addons (including Adblock) don't work, and the 'search for updates' function is broken.

I had that same problem, but the constant crashing was the main reason I had to update it. I wish honestly I'd stayed back at version 4 or so, EVERYTHING worked well back then.

How *did* you update it?

I'm on version 20. I'm on the beta channel so I get all the latest updates ahead of time. Which can backfire if they screw up, but been okay so far.

The problem I'm having with Firefox is I can't have more than one window at a time open! I can have as many tabs, but if I want to do two different things on two different screens, I have to use Firefox for one, and Chrome for another.

Firefox kept messin' with me so I went to Chrome and I'm happy as a clam there.
