This whole... thing going on.

Let me premise this with: I'm not trying to offend anyone, I'm just voicing my opinion in a calm, civil manner. :)
SO... many people on this here website are freaking out.
Some people: "OH MY GOSH, I CAN'T BELIEVE THE ADMINS ARE BEING THIS STUPID! THAT'S THE LAST STRAW, I'M GOING TO WEASYL!"
Some people: "WOAH GUYS, CHILL! THE ADMINS WORK HARD TO PROVIDE THIS FREE SITE FOR YOU! THEY'RE DOING THEIR BEST!"
Some people: "I don't care about what those people over there are doing because it honestly doesn't concern/affect me..."
And then you have me, but I've just been sitting over here watching all of this go down like "Hmm... look at all of that."
But now I've listened to many arguments from many sides, and honestly... I'm a bit irritated. I think the reason why I'm irritated is because most people don't know how to remain civil. Now maybe that's just too much to ask of any internet subculture, but when you're talking about something as big as website loyalty, it starts to become a big deal. Website loyalty may not seem like a big deal, but it really is to a lot of people (most artists, website owners, faithful watchers, etc). Yes, some people are going to be creepy internet stalkers. No, admins aren't always going to behave in the most tactical manner. BUT... there are a two important things to remember:
1) You are an individual capable of forming your own unique opinions. More importantly; you don't have to shout those opinions at everyone else because... they are also capable of forming their own opinions.
2) When you have an opinion about something that you feel strongly about and you feel like action is necessary, you can communicate those opinions to people in a calm and civil manner. I know it sounds weird, but people usually listen better to someone who is calm and collected rather than someone who's freaking out.
... when something like this makes TONS of people leave this site, yes it upsets me. FA is a website I have loved since I was just a teenager. I wish some things were different here, sure, but when someone leaves a website they're loyal to, it's almost like they're breaking up with them. In any relationship, you have to work at it in order to make it last. It makes me sad that people aren't willing to (calmly) work with people to make this a better place. Instead, people are throwing in the towel and ragequitting. I'm considering joining Weasyl, but not because of this whole "FA exodus" thing. I think there are things that Weasyl does better than FA, but since FA has been around longer, there are things that are done better here as well. If I do join Weasyl, it will be because I like the website, not because I dislike this one.
I guess what I'm ultimately trying to say here, to everyone, is... pipe the fuck down. :)

I've been seeing loads of journals.. and aren't the admins just..doing their jobs and all? I mean; the whole point of 'em is to lay down the rules and enforce 'em to keep the site organized.. but some people are just.. insecure, I guess.. . x.; ))
Yes, the admins are pretty much just doing their jobs. But some people freak out because the admins aren't doing enough or doing their jobs right, but then the admins reply with the fact that they're just doing what they know to do which is regulate the website, not necessarily make peace between people... but then everyone else freaks out because that comes across as "the admins don't care about us" and then that pisses off more people. Lol, people just being dramatic. I understand pretty much everyones' arguments, agreeing with some parts and disagreeing with others, but what really gets me is that people just don't think before they speak/type.

Yeah.. and the ironic thing is; I have the worst temper, along with Autism and ADHD.. and yet I barely ever have admin trouble.. xD; despite the fact some artists hate me mainly because of things I've said that unintentionally come out as rude.. so it's kinda really odd when you consider that I've never had such troubles of any sort with the admins.. then again, despite my diagnosis's, I tend to.. have more.. strategic and reasoning skills of higher levels.. but 'cha get the point by now, I'd presume.. .= .") Yeah, people tend to lack common sense with the 'Think Before Acting' niche at times.. 'cause they think they can get away with anything on the internet, which obviously is inevitably wrong.. but w/e, I guess.. just.. sOME PEOPLE 8T")

Oof, amen! Sometimes I'm quite glad there's a virtual barrier between me and some of the people I meet here. x)
