I only got to go the one day to the con..so please if you're reading this..don't judge me to hard <3
PROS:
Rocks and Rails con t-shirt is super cute! ..so I gots me one.
Intro into Furry panel was great!
Fursuit Parade <3<3
Dance competition was fun to watch
Harlem Shake was too fun!
Dealer's Den was pretty good
CONS/ Improvements:
Artist alley was really small...
Wish there were more dealers/artists selling tails, ears ect and things like novels, zines and whatnot.
(though I did pick up a print and a bookmark..)
Wish there were more panels in the morning..everything seemed to pick up pace around 1pm..
(..maybe furs sleep in or stay up too late compared to other cons I've been too ??)
Mostly I felt alone and out of place really...
I came by myself and I really don't know anyone in the furry community at all....
No one talked to me or said hi or waved..nothing ( except the people at registration..)
I had lunch alone and almost cried... I've never felt so out of place.
I'm really, really, really shy and I tried to talk to people..but everyone feels like they're in a clique.
I'm not the person to just barge into a group.
I left early.. around 4pm...
No new friends...no numbers..no emails..
(just some videos..and me being spotted in one..)
Maybe furry just isn't for me....
I'll just stick to appreciating anthropomorphic art and fursuits..

I can completely understand how hard it is to make new friends and such when people have their own set of friends they like to be with.
I definitely suggest (since you are a local) joining our forums https://www.bcfurries.com (if you havent already) and post there. Sometimes when people aren't so busy with plans, catching up, etc, its easier to make some friends. : )
There are tons of smaller events where you can chill with some really cool people. Many are shy just like you. People at a convention will not know that you are shy but in a smaller gathering its easier to say hi, talk and get to know those around you and make some really awesome friends. : )
Its up to you in the end. I understand what its like trying to get out there when you are shy and nervous so i hope that you can meet some cool people and become friends with them. the crew over at BCfurries are pretty awesome. : )
We at VF thank you for coming out, even if things didn't turn out the way you wanted them. You came and contributed and that is awesome in our books. : )
Keep your chin up! : )

I think I just jumped into the deep end too quickly on my part.
I really did love the con (upon reflection)....and perhaps I will try and get out there more and maybe you'll see me at next years' Vancoufur after all.
