OKAY SO
I HAVE A CONUNDRUM
IN SCENARIO 1...
We can start the party at a skating rink, as previously planned, then move to my apartment afterward-- Skate South lets you rent out the whole rink (meaning NOBODY BUT US PARTIERS) for 2 hours for $200...
... PROBLEM IS, I don't really have $200 to drop on a party.
So, if you guys wanna go with this option... THEN IF YOU WANT IDEAS FOR BIRTHDAY GIFTS, A $5 BILL OR SOMETHING WOULD BE PRETTY SWEET, 'CAUSE I WILL BE STARVED FOR FUNDS. 8'D
I really need RSVPs for the skating rink, if people want to go with this option!
For me to rent the rink, we have a limited time frame, so we'd have to be sure people can actually make it!
You'll still have to pay for skate rental, which is $2 for skates and $3 for blades, which sucks.
ALTERNATIVELY, IN SCENARIO 2...
We go to the STARLIGHT DRIVE-IN by the carload, watch the shows on Screen 1 (Oz the Great and Powerful, Wreck-It Ralph, and Parental Guidance), and THEN go have the party either at my apartment.
This is the FAR CHEAPER ALTERNATIVE!
... But, if they're at my place, they'll also be crowded. 8'''D
I'm going to rig it up so all 3 rooms of my apartment (living room, and both bedrooms) would be free to chill in, but there's still pretty limited seating, so there'd be lots of standing and/or sitting on the floor.
I also have no idea how cold it might be at the drive-in, SO THERE'S THAT. Err'body might have to bring blankets and huddle up or something. :V
SO. IDK.

Money is probably going to be an issue for most of us as you mentioned, plus for me the later the better because I might end up working late once again. I'm also anxious to see how comfortable my car's hatch is for drive-ins x3 And you can't beat Wreck-It Ralph, while Oz also looks better than I initially expected.
That's just me though, I still say do what the majority agrees on ^.=.^
While I 100% prefer skating to sitting outside in winter, I also really don't want to cost people bunches of moolah just to attend my party! :C
But the first movie, Oz, starts at 7:45-- WILL YOU BE FREE BY THEN?? 8A8 I'd feel terrible if you missed a movie you ACTUALLY WANTED TO SEEEEE!!
We'll see what the majority goes with, though! O: I think I'll keep these options on the table until Wednesday or so, and THEN I WILL DECIIIIIDE.

But, I'd just feel really lame making people pay to go to my birthday party, y'know? Idk, maybe it's just me! THAT JUST SEEMS RUDE, IS ALL.
If you aren't expecting presents, you could just ask that people bring a little money to help fund it. I remember back in middle school, the parents always had to pay fees for parties x3
