Vancoufur 2013 Review
Vancoufur 2013 was a total blast! I can't say it any other way. The whole con was just so amazing and memorable. I got to meet SO many new people, as well as grabbing a new commission and one of those cool Bandanimals. :D
On Friday
Lynwen and I zoomed off to the con after school but had a bumpy time with registration, lol. It all worked out in the end. The good thing is I'll no longer be underage by next con. Afterwards we met up with
fissiledragon and Dusty Pinhead (FA unknown). The Welcoming Ceremonies were all around hilarious.
akonite made everyone laugh. Can't really remember what happened because I accidently deleted that footage. ^^" We headed off to Furry Feud which was funny. Someone's mom was calling them on stage during the game too. After a failed attempt at obtaining Sushi, we went to the Friday night dance. Katdraken can sure dance.
Saturday was the best day. Got to meet
univadedfox and filmed the fursuit parade. FINALLY got to see
lace in real life too. :P The dance competition happened after that which made my cry from hilarity. What's a dance comp without twerking... on the judges' table? That's all I'll say. Roan was the one wearing the biker helmet in the Harlem Shake. Someone forgot to press record, but I didn't so the Harlem Shake was saved. x3
OKAY NOW THE FURRY PICTIONARY DESERVES ITS OWN ALL CAPS PARAGRAPH. IT WAS THE WEIRDEST PANEL THERE WAS. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO DRAW A HERMAPHRODITE YIFF AIRPLANE? NO. OH MY GOD. IT CANNOT BE UNSEEN. BLAH. THE THINGS PEOPLE HAD TO DRAW WILL SCAR ME FOR LIFE.
Well... Katdraken, Lynwen and I left early to grab White Spot before the mad rush. Seems everyone had the same idea and the restaurant was exploding with people in fursuits. All I know is people were drunk in Boston Pizza. White Spot, though, was insane with all the furries. Also had a formal little introduction to
silverrwolfe there. We headed back to the Variety Show quickly, which was really worth it. Roan sang exceptionally well, and CHOCOLATE RAIN. I cried again because someone sang Chocolate Rain. Yes, it was really that funny. The Saturday night dance was a crapload of fun. I really enjoyed dancing with
kyroo and
xxarcticfoxxx. Also,
torwin did an awesome job on the lights. I realized how it smelt like over-heated hardware in there, lol.
On Sunday Lynwen and I went to 9:00am mass as zombies. xD Around 10:30am we got back to the con and she got all her badges and commissions. I still have yet to receive mine. Sadness. Sentence fragment. The fursuit games were interesting, as always. For the first time I witnessed the most violent game of musical chairs ever. I wonder what the hotel staff will say about all those bent chairs... Sunday was kind of slow, but around 4:00 the Closing Ceremonies began.
aphinity did some manly voice while auctioning off a basket of plushie puppies. He called them welfare puppies or something. x3 Akonite was still his funny self and got nominated as next year's con chairman. We went out for dinner, and got back to set up for the Dead Dog Dance. I was going to DJ at the con, which was extremely nerve racking at first.
tigon helped me out a lot with inputs and preparation. My set went well considering I had no controller and did it on a tiny netbook with Lubuntu (the one odd guy who DJed on Linux!). One thing I'd like next time is definitely a controller to sync up beats easier and more advanced software than Mixxx. VDJ runs in Wine but crashes a lot. I'll probably be using Traktor next time, on an OS that is native to it. Midway through my set, Akonite came up an introduced himself to me. I was honored the con chairman was introducing himself to me but at the same time worried about my laptop. :P He's a really nice guy.
nitroshep gave me a huge hug at the end and said he and
unootter liked it. :D It was the first fursuit hug ever!
Vancoufur 2013 was by far the most memorable con thus far. I'm really looking forward to next year's convention and the photos to be posted soon. I have 128GB of footage from the con, so it will take a long time to sort through. See you all next year! :')

Thanks for playing Sunday, I really enjoyed your set. Quite honestly I enjoyed the dead dog most for music a Fursuiter can actually dance to. You did awesome!
I was hanging out mostly in the Games Room, so that's probably why we missed each other...
