Yes, it is quite good. Wait, it's fantastic. Lots of cameos and sight gags in the beginning flowing into quite a good story. Yeah, there's some rampant product placement and the rules seems kind of arbitrary, but that's a small price to pay for one of the most imaginative films I've seen in some time.
It's a shame I saw too late to change my Twitter handle to something (verb)-it (name). Not even sure what mine would be. Ah well, still a great film, and one more 2012 Oscar nominee I can add to the list. I'm looking at you Argo and Zero Dark Thirty.

When he was reading to one of the games (or maybe the bar), the graffiti read "Aerith is dead", and the graffiti in one of the other terminals read "Aerith lives".
It's been a while since I saw in in theaters, so I can't recall the exact moments when they are visible, but they were the two most memorable of the references I caught. Enough so that I think I may have laughed a bit in the theater, which caused a few people to look at me funny, since it wasn't exactly a funny scene.
It really was a great movie and I'm glad that I bought it yesterday. X3
