In my opinion I'd tell him to fuck off, It's your money and your life and you can do whatever you please with both. If he really cared about you, they would accept that, but I don't know the whole story so yeah, just voicing my opinion.

Honestly, as long as you weren't doing something to do with his characters, I don't see how it even involves them. It's your money, you have a right to do what you want and enjoy yourself in life. Any real friend would understand that, and stop getting jealous. From the sounds of it, this kind of petty jealousy is better left to gradeschool classrooms.

I still have 2 more commissions from artists anyway, so it might even things out so it may not look like I was gone, but yeh.
