High speed interwebs, opinion.

I lion therefore I lion!
So, they lowered the price locally here on 65Mbs internet. It's only $30 more than I'm paying for 15Mbs a month. Do you think the extra 40Mbs is worth the $30/month extra, or is it a wank?

You may be paying for 15meg right now but you might not actually be getting 15mbs ......so your service now seems slow. If you are getting less then 15mbs id say contact your provider and ask if they can trouble shoot your connection.
But if you ARE getting what your paying for and your unsatisfied then perhaps it might be a good idea...if your on the web a lot anyways watching movies and such.
So we went to Amazon band bought the latest and greatest and saved about $50 a year by doing so... And cancelled the "rental fee" from them. As a matter of fact, the Comcast representative suggested going this route!!!
If you've got two competing companies, I'd call the one I was with and tell them I'm thinking of switching. Might be able to get a discount off the cheaper plan you have now.
Unless the speed of your internet connection is bothering you, I woldn't bother
If you play games, consider that very few games use more than 2mb/s. If you are in a house with three users on the net, and you are all playing such a game, you could be pulling 6mb/s at once, but only if each of you were at peek demand points in the game at the same time. There are simply very few things that need the sort of speed you are talking about, that would actually take advantage of it. Movies downloads would be the closest, but even many of them are limited in speed from the remote side. The only reason I am at 24mb/s right now, instead of 5mb/s is that Time Warner offered me a promotional upgrade for no extra cost for a year. I've had four people using the 5mb/s connection at the same time, with no noticeable slowdowns. Two of them were doing Second Life, I was downloading large files and one was streaming a movie at the same time. So, if 5 is sufficient for four people at once, your 15 should be way more than enough, unless you have a dozen people in your house, all using at once. I'd save your money for something more useful.
I have a 20/2 now at home and streaming apps work fine. There is some buffering if it's 1080p content but otherwise I get no lag.
I would take a look at your network hardware. I could use a refresh depending on the age.
