~Irishwolven here, would like to give a big thanks to those who have been commenting in the last couple of journals.
I myself only just got back into Zoids in the last span of a year when I was gifted money by a very nice Furaffinity User to buy myself a model to build whilst I was in Hospital. The model which I got was the HMM Liger Zero. But this wasn't my first ever Zoid.
I can't remember which make of Zoid it was but it was back when the Chaotic Century Anime was first broadcast in the UK and I got a motorized Saber Tiger model. It's kinda why my HMM Saber Tiger means a lot to me because it reminds me of my first Zoid.
But I've been wondering about this group, What was your first ever Zoid? What was the first Anime series that you watched that included Zoids?
And last of all What would you guys say to having a Zoid Mascot for the Group?
~Irishwolven signing off.
and as for mascot wise, that doesn't sound like a bad idea it's just choosing which one really. could make a poll and people vote on it. But how I see it people might say the blade liger or liger zero be good canidates mainly because they were the main character's zoid in the series.
Since it's just a Mascot it doesn't need to be a popular Zoid it can be even as something as low as a rev raptor or guysack.
The first series I watched was New Century Zero - I remember a kid on my bus I was fond of brought the instructions from his kits to school for some reason, and I was introduced that way. Because of an interest in these robot animals I watched the show when I got home. I was hooked. I don't remember which episode exactly as I've watched that series SO MUCH, but I LOVED the idea of a CAS, and at some point I even made myself a pair of Liger Zero gloves with felt and a stapler. xD I'd also run around on all fours in my basement while the show was on (a family room setup) pretending I was fighting too. I'm such a dork rofl.
A mascot sounds interesting! =O What would we do with him/er?
Ended up watching the series with Bit Cloud in it on CN. Then it switched to Chaotic Century back and forth. Eventually years later the show was never seen again. But I bought the Gamecube game which apparently is known as the worst Zoids game to be made. Liked it. Played the one on GBA for a bit was interesting. But sadly living in the US the games are rather limited for me.
My first anime was New Century Zero, first episode I saw was episode 11. "The Sensational Three - Rematch with Jack Sisco" I was addicted the first second the Zoids walked on screen xD
As for a mascot I do think it would be interesting
As for the first time I watched zoids, it was a New Century episode. I think I actually started watching it from the first episode xD I was so addicted I would wake up at 5:30 in the morning just to watch it
I think having a mascot would add more personality to the group.
I wanna dig up a copy of all the anime I can find of Zoids on Amazon or something.. haven't watched them in much to long..
Zeak was just a badass as well.
Here's links to the Animes:

The first Zoids anime I watched was not technically Zoids. It was actually the Z-Knight promotional video that I managed to find at a local thrift store. However, the first true Zoids cartoon I saw was New Century Zero during Cartoon Network's Toonami afternoon block. I wasn't too partial to the characters that appeared in it, but I found myself fascinated with the giant metal animals, especially the Berserk Fuhrer. When Chaotic Century aired, I found myself innamoured up until it was cut from my area for reasons unknown.
As for a group mascot, it's an interesting idea. I'm torn between suggesting creating an entirely fan-made Zoid, and suggesting little used or little known Zoids such as the Ray Saurer, Death Dog, or the Ssauro Knight.
My first Zoid, got on Christmas of 1984, was "Garius"- zoids.wikia.com/wiki/Garius
And that same day Garius was destroyed by my neighbor who came over that day, who STEPPED on him! I CRIED!!! Then said neighbor had the NERVE to complain that I shouldn't have toys on the floor. WTF its CHRISTMAS!!!
Long story short the lady was put out by my dad and he tried to piece poor little Garius back together.
Jeez I still remember that day vividly.

Was that bitch ever let back into the house?
I'm guessing you were pretty young, maybe less than 10?
Did that neighbor not have kids or something?
Yep, *that* neighbor didn't have kids and despised them.
She wasn't back into the house for a good damn while (one of my mom's friends). And yes dad replaced Garius with another one.
Dad's long gone now, but Zoids always brought back good memories of him, helping me put them together. So yea, Zoids always had a special place in my heart. The next Christmas he bought me a "Red horn" type Zoid (well, forgot the ACTUAL name, but same mold as a Red Horn but colored very dark green? its the first one of its kind made) and a Runna.

PS
And not a man lol, a woman =^.^=
Tomboy to the CORE tho. All I have now are HMM Zoids =D
Do you still have those Zoids to remember him by? And sorry if my question is too forward.
~irishwolven
No, those guys were lost from the various moves
One thing I have come to learn, Zoids DO NOT move from house to house well. They tend to break or lose parts!
But I do remember having the little guys all the way to middle school. Then POOF! They were never found again.
However I am always on the lookout for another Runna...though I am sure Garius is FARRRRRRR harder to come by.
I plan to get a HMM Red Horn, and paint it to look like the dark green version my dad bought me way back when...
-BT
If I could I would help paint it just to see yourself smile with the memories.

My first victim was a Zoids Hellcat...that didn't go too well.
The recent victim is a knock off HMM Shield Liger- it turned out interesting. Not bad, but not NEARLY as bad as the Hellcat.
I had a motorized Saber Fang but can't remember how the leg mechanism was setup to offer a suggestion. I use to have like a TON of Zoids once upon a time, some broke, I fixed them and displayed them.
Ironically my HMM Saber Fang has a broken foreleg, I had to glue a certain joint for it to stay on. So to match the limited bend of said leg, I glued the other good front leg to match. Long story short all is well (crosses fingers).

An old friend of mine introduced me into the show, instantly getting me hooked on the franchise.
Though after accidentally discovering Chaotic Century, I preferred it over New Century, both of which were on the air during those young years.
A Zoid as a mascot? I feel that having a mascot would sort of be misdirection for the group.
We may be fans of Zoids but I don't see other FA groups having a mascot of any sort.
I also see it being possibly misleading, bringing people to possibly assume that the mascot is a character of a moderator.
To my knowledge, other Zoids related sites do not have a mascot of any type.
I barely saw any of the episodes to Chaotic century when it was aired in the UK the only Zoids for years that I remembered vividly were the Saber tiger, Shield Liger and the guysak. But I would suspect that had I gotten a chance to see more of the episodes I would have fallen in love with the command wolf like I am with it now.
If no other site doesn't have a mascot then that just makes us unique. And in no way would the mascot belong to a moderator simply because we're not the ones who are deciding what it is. We don't make the final choice on the colour scheme or even name it. The whole character will belong to this group. It will be the official Zoidsfur character and anyone as a member can contribute to it in any platform. I genuinely believe that a unifying character will bring people together.
Plus Site's such as deviant art has it's own mascot, I've even come across a canine comic group over there as well that has it's own mascot and they do very well for themselves.
As far as a mascot goes, i would avoid a cliche choice like the liger zero, or blade liger, and go for something more general, but still with a strong feeling to it, like a shield liger or saber tiger
