28!

Oh god, I'm 28 today. I'm like... old.
When I was a kid, we didn't even HAVE a computer. We had to do all our research for school at the Public Library. We talked to our friends on a phone, not one of those fancy smart phones with the pictures and games, just a wall mounted land line in the kitchen. When we wanted to play a game, we had to break out the board games or a deck of cards. And our first computer? Didn't have internet at all. We used it instead of my mother's typewriter just to type up our homework assignments. And then when we finally DID get internet, we could only afford it for an hour every day, it took up the entire phone line, and you could only download at 5 kilobytes per second.
*shakes a stick at all of you* Get off my lawn!

When I was a kid, my dad bought a Commodore 64, and I did my English homework in Geos... thank goodness my 3rd grade teacher didn't realize the power of copy and paste when it came to the "write each vocabulary word ten times" exercises...

Happy birthday Temp.
Mah first PC was 486'th (didn't gave a damn what that means, but everybody knows it was the slowest PC ever since radioactive monitors) ....and i used to play Doom 2 (with lags) and use paintbrush in windows 3.1
E-net? i remember Matrix dial-up modem with hurricane (32k) traffic speed, when every MB of single picture was a birthday present (partly because of joy it finally downloaded, partly because of download speed & connection stability)
Some time ago we used to meet up people on the streets and have fun by playing physical games (like football, hideys, bikecycle trans-district races...) Ahhh, memories
Also.. grats yah with another lousy year past *conffetti*
Oh, and Happy Birthday! I hope it's a good one! =P
When we first got internet, while I was in middle school, we had to keep a timesheet of when we had signed on and off, since we only had 10 hours per month of 28.8k dialup. ^_~
