Where were you when this came out?

"Out of my window, I could see them in the moonlight;
two silhouettes saying 'good night' by the garden gate..."
Like, oh mah god! It was like Ninteen Eighty THREE...Three...three...
Los Angeles was preparing for the '84 olympics, and the town was painted in pastel colors; for a guy, being a "preppy" was cool, with their penny loafers and wool sweaters tied around the shoulders of their pink Izod polo shirts with their collars sticking straight up; girls were wearing leg warmers over everything and teasing their hair and killing the Ozone at an astonishing rate; and the joke going around was, "How can you tell if a DeLorean drives past you? There's no white lines on the road."; love them or hate them, Ewoks were introduced into our culture; and yes, Michael Jackson looked like...well like Michael Jackson.
Anybody remember other things that happened to them in 1983? And let's try to keep it happy because a lot of "BAD" things happned that year too.

FA+

and the first thing I see on TV was a Michael Jackson live... I can't remember but I know it launched me on the right track of life :D
Heck, I even feel old, been hanging out with too many 18 year olds. XD
I think the 80s are pretty cool though :)
For most of '83 I had a job at the Post Office; I quit in November so I could go back to school. I celebrated my new-found freedom by visiting a friend of mine in Atlanta. That was fun trip.
1983 was also the year Dragon's Lair debuted. I spent hours (and many, many quarters) trying to master that game.
I recall the first artificial heart transplant, Barney Clark, lasted something like around 110 days, the debut of Cabbage Patch dolls and people getting into knockdown dragout fights over them, the very last episode of MASH, Goodbye, Farewell and Amen was the top watched TV show ( I was one of those watching it!!) The Hitler Diaries that proved to be fakes.
68 Brave Marines were killed in Beirut by A suicide bomber, crap in Nicarauga,
hows that?
