It really is keeping yourself motivated to keep pushing passed your feelings of sadness and keep at it, if you feel like your not moving forward, ask for some critiques and talk to artist around you on little things that might help you improve. Everybody wants to do better..thats the biggest goal, but you need to set a smaller goal for yourself that you know you can achieve and make the small steps forward. Sometimes its better to just tell your own self to shut up and draw.
If you start to feel bad, throw on some upbeat music and draw something to it. Look at one of your favorite artist, take one picture they have down and zoom in and find what they did and make notes on it, just keep your mind occupied.
