Everything was fine and dandy till yesterday evening when I updated Avast.
Now I can only run my computer for about 3 min before it freezes and errors then rinse and repeat till your yanking your hair out by the roots.
What dose this meen for my commissioners ? hopefully nothing! I have a old comp I blew up back in '08 which after 4 years of doing nothing decided to work again and I used it at my old job for months without a hitch. the good news is that I put sai on it so, with any luck I can use it till I fix this or with no luck till I get a new comp.
I've tried looking up how to fix this but the fixes A: don't work B: seem to need to download programs and I don't trust that or C:say I'm f'ed and my hard drive is about to die.
Will keep everyone updated. wish me luck ;;

I have hope its a file thou since I've been on safe mode and well..it hasn't froze yet so that's better then normal but yeah. stress ;;
Also i hate avast 8 as it eats up more memory with stuff you don't need.
and for avast i was just used to using it, had it for ever it work and i saw no need to try anything else...at the time...;;
And avast is still great, Its just takes a little more to configure the newer version of it then i would like as a tech. Still one of the best free ones out there in my opinion.
Better yet, back everything up to an external just to be on the safe side.
and done a system restore to a point before the update.
(this is why I keep my restore points up to date for when things like that happen.)
I had the same problem when I installed Norton 2013. Only could run in safe mode. Once I uninstalled it, I chose a month trial of AVG, and the problems stopped.
