He only lives 10 minutes away from me, but right now he is on the other side of the country from me until November because he is training for the Army. I have the opportunity to visit him in May after he graduates basic training and before he begins his advanced job training. The plane ticket is $400-500 not including a hotel, I don't know if I need one x.x I should ask...

Yea, I would strongly recommend looking into a hotel especially if it is a long trip to go and see him after graduation. Odd that you mention the Army since I have been part of a military family all my life and know some things intimately about what basic trainees are put through. I am not in the military, and the closest I even want to be in the military in my life is being a contractor (like a musician or a cater). One huge thing I remember about guys going through up to 16 weeks of basic training is they miss the taste of anything sweet and chocolate chip cookies seam to be the most popular. I know since I use to bake monthly or bi-monthly for the GI's in basic. I did that since church related fellowship was taken away from them due to needing to board the buses right after service. Never underestimate the power of the cookie! ^^

Yes! Care packages are wonderful. Just read the rules if you want to send homemade verses store bought. Just remember he may want to share with his buddies. ;p

Ummm, I ment the rules of your boyfriend's unit about care packages - some units may confiscate the sweet treats until graduation but others may let him have them if he shares. Something you may want to consider asking about.
