LORAH So my bestest friend just got her very first tattoo for her 21st birthday. turned out awesome and all that jazz.
So i've always wanted tattoos, but I've always been afraid of tha pain. and she was like oh it didn't really hurt (I was there, I saw). so now I'm like DUDE I WANT TO GET STARTED ON MINE.
MY FEELINGS ON TATTOOS
If i'm putting it on my body for the rest of my life, I'm either A) drawing/designing it or B)it has to be a HUGE part of me.
I know some bigger things I want, but I wanna start small so those have to wait.
so my my firsty I'm thinking of doing "Imagine" in a font I like, and incorporating a peace sign.
I KNOW this is kinda one of those unoriginal overdone things, but at the same time, that song, those lyrics, its like everything that I believe in. It resonates with me on a deep level. and its simple enough to be my first.
SO I WANNA HEAR TATTOO STORIES

1) I have the shadings of an ankh on my upper right chest (above my boob). I got it 6.5 months after my best friend died in a car crash with a drunk driver. As the ankh is the Egyptian symbol for eternal life, I felt it was appropriate for a memorial tattoo, especially since when I talk about it, I'm remembering him, therefore, keeping him alive in my memories. 9 months after I got it, I lost two more friends in the same manner (car crash with a drunk driver), so it's become a memorial for the three of them.
2) I have a tiny little rose bloom on my right ankle. I got this one about 4-5 months after my first, and was supposed to be about twice as large and a black rose, but the person who was supposed to do it was too busy (he was doing them for half price while he was traveling), so I got the red one I have now instead. I have been contemplating changing it into an anklet tattoo, but it's a bit high up for that, and someday, I plan on my black rose there ;)
3) My left upper arm sports the Tampa Bay Lightning symbol, which I got during the summer after the lockout season in the 90s. This was a year before they made it to the playoffs. Since then, I have gotten TONS of "Blue Power Ranger?" comments, and even one "The Flash?" comment (Since when did the Flash start wearing blue, silver and black?) Only die hard fans know the symbol without the lettering.
4) My left ankle sports a pink unicorn head with blue mane. I got this because I've always loved unicorns. Since then, though, my daughter has claimed that tattoo as HERS. She wasn't even a twinkle in my eye when I got it! But she loves anything to do with horses/unicorns/pegasus. So it's now hers.
5) My right hip has a purple heart with two sunflowers that I got for myself on year for my birthday. And the day after I got it, I got my Lightning on reworked.
6) My right shoulder has a long stem red rose on it. I've had this one reworked, and the new one is more elaborate than the original, including shading under the leaves and the veins within the leaves. I adore the new version of it <3
7) My left calf has a black panther head with bright chartreuse green eyes. Another birthday present to myself. I love Florida panthers, and especially the rare black panthers. I've dreamt of a single male black panther since I was 15, and he is my spirit guide.
8) My newest tattoo is a stylized wolf's head howling at the moon. I got this as a birthday present from my best friend/sister a couple weeks after my 37th birthday. But the tattooist was crap. I have a piece missing from the tattoo and have to find someone who will fix it, since I refuse to go back to that shop again.
Recommendation: Research the shop for any reported incidents. Watch them tattoo another person first. Are their tools sterilized before being used on a new person, or are they using the same tool on each person? Do they have a form that you fill out before getting a tattoo to make sure you're not drunk/high? If you feel that the needle is going too deep, say something. DO NOT let the tattooist (preferably a tattoo artist) make you feel like you're stupid for asking questions before, during or after the tattoo is done. ALWAYS use Neosporin or some kind of triple antibiotic ointment after the tattoo is done for best results (not using it leads to infection which can lead to blotchy color, or worse). If they tell you not to use Neosporin/triple anitbiotic ointment, do it anyway! It is your tattoo's best friend!
I’m planning on getting my first tattoo where my friend got hers. They guy, who was the owner of the shop, was super cool and professional. We sat there and watched him sterilize everything and get out the fresh needle. He was very meticulous about everything making sure not to touch the fingers of the gloves with his skin. I was actually surprised how careful he was about everything. And he knew it was her first so he asked her how she was doing and everything and let him know if she needed a break and told her about aftercare and what to do and what not to do.

Basically I knew I wanted to mix feline and music for as long as I could remember, I stumbled upon a design, got permission to use it, and bam!
