Hm just a thought struck me. I kinda feel that Scientist respect Christians and people who says "god did it". They might not agree that their explination of "god made it in 6 days" is sufficiant and maybe just alittle stupid, but hell they still respect that beleif.
Though the only problem actualy come from the Christian side where they continue to attack and trying to debunk everything science has discovered the last 300 years or so. Everyone got the right to have a religions and practise it, but it goes wrong when they are trying to force it upon others.

Hey lets say that I got Ásatrú (Icelandic for "Æsir faith", pronounced [auːsatruː], in Old Norse [aːsatruː]) religion, and then some of the Christians says "you will burn in hell you heathen!" does that really do anything for me? "Okay but I don't beleive in your religion. I don't give a damn". I guess this is a way bigger problem in the US, though the scientific world is threathend by it.

Can't they just preach about the loving God instead of a god that will send you to hell whatever you do?
