March break good times

Well since being in the army finally have had a chance to have some proper time off with friends and not travel (much) got to hang out with some of my buddies I hadn't hung out with so much as life and/or training has gotten in the way. Went shooting yesterday and today I ended up at a gun show in Calgary. I was able to find the rifle I was looking for at a reasonable price. Next on the list is a visit to the zoo followed by furry bowling. Will probably end off with some Easter ham at some point at my buddy's place. After all is said and done I will be going on ex shortly after returning from work. So how is everyone else doing this march break?

I don't have a march break. They made me use up my annual leave cause I was supposed to go on course :P glad to hear you're having a good time though. What rifle was that if you don't mind me asking?

thats a bummer, but then again with course and all that is the reason why this is my first. the rifle I got is a Savage model 99 in .308 and oldie but a classic, I grew up shooting the same platform but in a smaller round that isnt so common, 308 you can pick up at pretty much any store that carries ammo.

Indeed. Lots of guys here have .308 as well. Good for hunting. I'd like to go hunting next year but I don't have a good rifle for that. I got a 7.62 and I don't know if it would do... Its pretty small caliber for hunting :/

as long as you can get the proper ammunition (non FMJ) then you are fine. had a buddy get is first bear with an SKS no problem. its all on shot placement too.

Easter was kind of empty in my case, with work getting in the way as usual *Funny thing, I only find myself celebrating Christmas because my job makes time for it.*
