Oh dearie me (spoilers for that latest story)

So my latest story, Eric and Milo: First, One, & Only Love, was indeed an April Fool's Day joke on my part. Eric and Milo aren't really mates and lovers, it was just a daydream fantasized by their sister Anne, who likes to 'ship' her brothers together, much to their chagrin.
I kinda hinted at that by making the acronym of the title "FOOL". :B
Now I figured there would be some negative response to this one, given that it ends in a great big fake-out, but as I look through the responses on the three sites I've uploaded it to, I'm surprised to find how negative some of those responses are. It seems people were genuinely disappointed and/or upset that the events of the story weren't real (although, for the record, all the canine tradition lore I mentioned should be considered accurate).
Feeling rather dismayed and a little bit guilty at that, so I just wanted to wave a flag of truce and apologize; I never meant any harm with this story, it was a just a little joke on my part, so I'm sorry if it hurt your feelings or upset you, and I hope I haven't lost anyone's respect over this. I write my stories to make people smile, remember, so upsetting my audience wasn't exactly part of the plan. :P
Looks like next year, I'll be leaving April Fool's Day to other people, though it helps that I thought of this joke years ago and simply never managed to implement it before. One-and-done, folks, I'm all tapped out. XD
APOLOGY OVER.

FA+

I personally loved that ending, because it was kinda a break from the actual Erik and Milo messing around and more of an insight on just how perverted their sister is on their stress relief time :P
Err... I, on the other hand, should apologize now if what I'm saying makes no sense. Fairly tired while writing this and not really thinking straight ^^;
P.s.- the only problem I had was it was the tying thing. I thought Erik didn't have a knot since he wasn't really described with one until now, so that bit somewhat threw me off @-@.
But I suppose you're right. I'm not sorry I did the story, I still rather like it, I just didn't mean to actually upset anyone with it, figured I'd just get some groans and eye-rolls as far as negative reactions went. I don't know, maybe I'm being over-guilty about such things. :P
And as far as you being over-guilty, you should't be. As a writer you should be trying to pull emotions out of your readers, right? :P
Either way, I enjoyed the story. was definitely enjoyed for what it was. Though I'm inclined to agree with Anne. Those two with knots would be delicious :P
And just in case you took it that way, my comment on the story itself wasn't negative. I was aiming for "lighthearted," but this is the toneless, expressionless internet.
