Do I need to reset my computer back to factory reset if I upgrade my E7500 560 Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor 3 MB 2.93GHz 1066 MHz LGA775 65W to a Yorkfield Quad Core kit, QX9650, 3.0G, 12MB, 1333FSB, C1 and I have 6 GB ram.
Because I want to play games like Skyrim and other games on the computer that is recommended.
Minimum:
OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
Processor: Dual Core 2.0GHz or equivalent processor
Memory: 2GB System RAM
Video Card: Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 512 MB of RAM

I think your old processor should be able to handle Skyrim just fine. I play that game on a 5+ years old machine and it runs pretty well.
But you are you and it's up to you to decide what you want to do.
