Well, maybe not great for you, but great for me and my greed. See, I'll open up a very limited number of commission slots, like let's say 1 or 2. Then, I will make you all fight amongst yourselves by offering them up for auction. The price will soar higher and higher and I will become richer and richer! but, it doesn't end there. Once the auction is over, the person or persons who won will STILL have to pay my outrageous commission prices! It's like getting paid twice for one picture! Genius!
By the way, I will never ever fucking do this, but it is happening, and I have seen at least one person doing this. And people are actually lapping that shit up.

But slot auctions, those piss me off.
Hell, I hate it when artists raffle off slots. Like "2 slots open. $5 gets you a ticket. You can buy as many tickets as you want."
And if someone is willing to pay that kind of money for your work, you would be hard-pressed to say no.
I usually just stick with artists like you, because I love your style and I can afford your prices, and leave the rest to their own devices.
Like, "$40 will unlock the arms so everyone can see them!" it was great because the total cost was well over $200 for a generic picture
It's like ... paying $40 for a picture feels like a lot, but $40 is less than 1/10th rent, so ...
Also, anyone who actively decides to make FA their primary source of income is a damn fool. It is not a sustainable "business model" by far. Most everyone I've seen try to do it is either constantly begging for donations or living with their parents. Or both. It's usually both, though.
Honestly it's super easy for any artist to exploit the hell out of FA, but why is it so much to ask that people not be giant shitheads ;A;
