Boo picks up a hitchhiker telling him he has an innocent face when he asks why she gave him a ride when no one else would. Then when they get to their shared destination Boo is so smitten with this new man and agrees to go for a drink (cant hold alcohol well) She is to drunk to say no when he offers to take her home. she gladly gives him the keys and they drive off. He turns out to be a psycho and takes her to his old house in the middle of no where and chains her in the basement and tortures her (rape, Chinese water drip, verbal abuse, blinding her) after the first week was over he blinds her with a special poison, he then leaves her in the woods, behind her house. he sets the house on fire in attempt to murder her the last thing he says to her is never trust an innocent face. She survives and ends up living in the woods. she lives her life alone, everyone in her town thinks shes a freak some of the boys come and rape her cause she cant do anything or they throw rocks at her. She eventually learns how to survive blind and wild. she becomes feared in the town because she learned to fight and would kill. eventually a group of boys (patch as the leader) come in and patch is the one that fights her and pins her down. its the first time boo has been beaten since she learned to fight. and the first ever she has been forced to submit to a boy. she is embarrassed to be beaten and is invited to travel with them back to their home. Boo agrees and follows them home. her days with the small pack were difficult. she struggled to find her place in the group. everyone else had a talent but her since she couldn't see. She finally realizes her gift when she hears another pack and alerted her pack before they could ambush. Patch tells her he loves her and Boo doesn't know what to say. Boo struggles with trusting anyone since she had gone blind with the last thing her captor had said don't trust a pretty face. those words haunted her and Patch made her feel happy and she thought he was cute but that made her scared. eventually patch earns her trust when he jumps in front of a knife to protect her. She says yes to him and they become mates. happily ever after!
