Holy Sheeeet this movie has so much unbelievable that it looks like swiss cheese.
1. Why is that family even there during The Purge? If they can afford that big a house and security system they could certainly afford a trip to Cancun for a few days a year.
2. The only way the unemployment rate could reach 1% would be if the other 7% got the shit out of the US and immigrated somewhere else.
3. Who would sponsor this kind of thing? Not only is it open to all sort of anarchism but, it just SCREAMS a open card to Lynch Mobs and Vigilante Justice. On top of...you know...letting all the crazy people go on a killing spree.
4. Where are all the guns? This is America: The land of GUNS isn't it?
5. Why are they all alone? The smart move would be for Non-Insane people to get together in groups where they can fend off crazies.
6. Why have only 12hrs of CRAZY time when someone could just go to Detroit 24/7?
Besides. Star Trek already did this.
You have come for the Festival? Yes?

Somebody out there wants to resurrect exploitation films, with a "message" to make them less exploitative. The actual film will be a study in violence without reason, rationality, or purpose. The director will call it a look at the human psyche, and reviewers will find it either trash or a bold statement on the fact that even in times of plenty humans will lose their humanity.
Sick of this dreck. Thank you for introducing it, so I know what not to watch. It can chill in the movie aisles with Saw.
Yup. That's definitely one of the stupider premises I've heard in the last few years. Idiocy.
