Fortunately, it wasn't passed. As much as I am disgusted by all the shootings, gun laws won't change much, dedicated criminals are still going to get their clutches on them, while leaving law abiding citizens less able to defend themselves.

Plus it would be like armoring yourself heavily to a fault, you may be better protected, but now the enemy has to think of more effective ways to take you down, like either coming up with a more crushing weapon like a mace, or going straight into the visor with an edged weapon.
I'm metaphorically speaking of more use of bombs and deadlier tactics.
I don't want to sound cold, my thoughts and heart goes out to the victims of the recent bombings, but maybe the universe is trying to broadcast. "There are more ways to kill than just guns!"
