Choosing your Fursona

So I have talked with quite a few other furs and asked them about their fursona and noticed a trend. Before I proceed I want to make it clear I am not here to tell you to change your fursona or make you feel bad in any way, this is just something I think needs to be clarified.
I have researched the furry fandom quite well and the means of choosing your fursona is rather complex. Your fursona may not be what your favorite animal is, by definition the fursona is you as an animal. Therefore you must match your personality with the personality of an animal species, this also extends to imaginary species like dragons. Your body type should also match the animals body type although this is not a must.
For example:
I am a very complicated character who likes to play, learn, experiment and be a little mischievous with, good hearted. Therefore I am most likely a Fox or to be more specific a Kitsune.
Here I will list a few species and what they represent:
Wolf:
- likes to hang out in groups
- dominating
- powerfull
- Large build, not necessarily muscular
- leadership
Vulpine:
- likes to work alone, but likes to hang out with others
- Playful
- small light build
- independent
- Mischievous
Dragon:
- Works well alone as well with others
- Agressive and Rebellious
- Self-sustaining
- Large muscular build
Feline:
- Relaxed
- Loving
- Self-sustaining
- Light but strong build
- Playful and adventurous
Horse:
- Long endurance
- Powerful
- Prefers to live/work with others rather than go solo.
- Spiritual
- large and very fit
Bird:
- Freedom lover
- Traveler type
- efficient and smart
- Honoring
- any build
If you disagree or have comments let me know!

I chose a canine as my fursona, because i have always felt a connection with them. i chose border collie more specifically, because i am loyal, intelligent, submissive and obedient to my head (or "alpha") yet strong willed in and of my own right, fierce when necessary but generally good natured, athletic for the most part, energetic, hard working, and protective of those within my "group". I did not, however, stick with the traditional border collie coloring of black and white, because nothing in my life has ever been as simple as black and white. Also blue is a cool color (as opposed to a warm color such as red) and fits my usually easy going, and at times melancholy demeanor.
Just thought I'd share my own insight on my fursona choice.
