Oh, they did respond! It was actually reasonable too and if I'd had a job at the time, I probably would have gone through with it. Extremely thankful I did not.

Yes, referring to Copper of Prefur suspiciously posting under a new name. Probably because she's directly linked on Avsun's "favorite artists" and mentioned several times. I can understand wanting to distance yourself from that mess, but why do it sneaky-like under a totally "new" name and pretend you're "new" ???

Yeah, I've seen other people try to do that and it almost never ends well unless they come clean. When you've got a distinctive style people will talk amongst themselves and eventually call you out, and even if you have a genuinely good reason for dropping off the face of the earth for months on end, you never come out looking good unless you're honest from the start.

My friend exhausted all legal avenues trying to find them. I heard the husband, Esh was homeless, so literally impossible to track down or be held accountable for the money owed. The wife, Saluna I'm not so sure about- when they divorced, she pretty much ran away from the shared business and left Esh to deal with everything by himself.

how did that work out in the end, were you able to get it into a wearable state?

I really had no motivation to work on it, so in the end I ended up selling it "as is" for the amount I originally paid for it. So it worked out okay in the end.

Ah that's good to hear at least. It was a cute head, just a shame they didn't do their research/practice more before jumping in and taking commissions (apparently by the dozen)

They owe me a good £500. I forget the exact amount, it was that long ago. It would be nice to get it back and if there is ever a way I will take it, but I've kind of given up hope of ever seeing it again.

Just before they split for good they emailed me asking me to pay off the rest of my fursuit in full (about another £500). This was after promising me WIPs and concept sketches and not delivering anything at all for several months and not replying to any of my emails. I told them they weren't getting another penny out of me until the suit was completed and I'm so glad I did that. A couple of my friends weren't so lucky and paid up in the hopes of getting their suit. Didn't happen.

Man that blows, especially the way they were still asking for money when they MUST have known they wouldn't be able to deliver. I'd be morbidly curious to know just what the total is that they stole (I think we can agree they've basically stolen from people at this point) and from how many people, but it would probably just end up upsetting people to even think about it.

Well doing some quick calculations, I heard they took on roughly 30 commissions at probably an average price of say $900. If people only paid the 30% deposit that would be $8100. I paid about 50% and i know others paid that and more. I reckon its probably upwards of $17,000.

Is there the possibility of seeing an example of their work?

From what I've heard, some of the costumes were nice and well made, others were a mess of bad stitching, inappropriate glues and general poor craftmanship. I've seen two reviews from good, established fursuit makers whose opinions I trust and neither gave me any confidence in either their abilities or their willingness to learn or engage constructively with customers.

Honestly, the problems present in mine weren't that horrible. If they hadn't gone on about how "professional" they were and jerked me along for months, it wouldn't have been as disappointing. Of course, if they had been honest that they were still rookie-level builders, I wouldn't have commissioned them in the first place.
