I did the maths on this for my own characters. We're a lot smaller than you, so our footsteps apply about as much pressure as truck tyres. Roads might flex a bit, and crack if they're badly maintained, but most of the time not even a clawmark of damage.

I've always had a crazy fascination with overly heavy macros. Not fat, just the square-cube law magnifying their weights to insane proportions. So that someone who'd be.. oh.. I dunno, an 6' 700 pound taur verses a a 6' 200 pound person if they were 600' tall.

To reach 600 feet, each would of doubled in size 6.64 times (6' * 2 ^x = 600, x = 6.64) but there weigh differences would of skyrocketed. The taur would of been 37,000 pounds (18 tons) and the anthro would be closer to 10,000 pounds (5 tons) Same weight ratio in growth, but totally different impact on the environment at the same height. 5 tons makes dents, 18 tons makes small quakes.

When you think about pressure, I recall the example of the 200 lb man in shoes and the 100 lb woman in heels - who is putting more pressure on the ground? The answer being the woman because that 100 lb is concentrated and the 200 lb is spread over the large area. Just think about getting stomped with a stiletto heel ;> One might also assume on a world where macro-beings are common that things like streets are built to higher tolerances; do they really want to keep filling potholes just because one wanders by?

I agree with you on this... mostly as part of the effect, realism really can't trump fun and cracking ground is just...too much toony fun to resist... just like jokes of tubby folks doing it when they fall
