I know a bombing is bad, but why is there more coverage of a bombing that only left a couple of people dead, when an explosion at a fertilizer plant in Texas killed more people and destroyed more buildings is buried on the news?

It likely has to do with one being an accident and another being an act with intent to harm.

I think think it's ridiculous. I feel sorry for the victims of the bombing, but I feel worse for those involved in the freak explosion.

Industrial accidents are expected to happen, terrorist bombings are not. As a result they have a larger impact on horrifying the public. The news likes stories that last longer to keep their ratings up.

And this is why I don't really watch the news. I just occasionally look at yahoo news, although they're about useless.
