The OEMs are actually a little risky.
You'll just have to WGAchew them, which is a patch.
They ARE legal copies, but the keys could be reported as "illegal" keys because OEMs are supposed to go to one person, and one person only. So when they figure that someone else has it, the key can be invalidated.
But WGAchew is very easy to obtain, hell, I can send it to you.
That or just buy it from a reputable seller like newegg or something. The difference between the OEM and the retail versions is just you're not granted any free tech support period from Microsoft which I believe is only like 30 days anyway. So if you're looking for a legit copy, OEM is generally the best way to go.
Ah yes, usually means someone stole your key usually via a keygen or something. Typically a call to MS will resolve the issue. Had to do that every now and then during my time on Geek Squad. *nods* Amazing how copy protections tend to only screw over the customer and not the pirate ;)
If you bought a PC or laptop from a retailer, it should have come with Windows OEM. If you are buying your own copy, that implies you have built or bought one without. You should consider whether you might want to transfer the license to another machine in the future. If so, get retail, because it will save you money. OEM or not, I wouldn't touch anything that doesn't come straight from the source. That's like getting a PC with pre-installed crapware, potentially.

Just let me know when you get it. :3
The key got invalidated not long ago, so I just patch it with WGAchew and I'm good to go.
They did nothing else.
