I think the sketchbook thing would most likely only be an economical choice if you were some sort of furry art god. Any particular reason you are so interested in pursuing that direction?

Easiest way to get money in a short amount of time. It's also good practice. I need workloads to keep me busy with art this summer

It's quicker than taking individual commissions, yes.

Really? Even after factoring all the time it takes just to get your highest bid finalized? Between structuring, advertising, waiting, and finalizing the auction details, that seems like it'd be a lot of steps. Someone of your caliber could easily make 50USD doing sketch commissions in a stream.

Oh, I meant at one single time. say I put up an auction for a week and work on other projects. at the end of the week I get the payment for the sketchbook auction and work on it periodically like I would regular commission.

So I am getting more money at one time than I would over the course of a month or so doing regular sketch commissions. The auction I just did was specifically for financing my trip to Washington. If I had the time, I would have just done regular sketch commissions. considering a regular sketch commission generally only takes me 30 minutes to do or so, I feel like charging $15 a pop is a good price. basically $30 an hour. It reels in more commissioners too, at that price.

I am getting lots of practice and getting paid at the same time, so I can't complain.

I always loved the idea of getting a sketchbook from an artist, have gotten a few sketch pages x3. I'm curious how you would go about it though, will contain multiple pics per page or only one pic per page?
