I'm thinking about getting into Final Fantasy XI again over the summer and wondering if anyone else still plays?

Played for 6 years. Moved on to Final Fantasy XIV. :3

I tried that when it first came out and couldn't stand it and stopped playing both.

Yeah they changed it COMPLETELY. The new version is looking really nice and VERY much a love letter to long time FF players.

Maybe I'll start that again then, just the system was so broken initially, and FFXI was always so well done.

Archers still have the accuracy of a stormtrooper XD

They upgraded the looks but sadly failed to fix my biggest gripe with the game which is hit/accuracy detection

yeah you should give XIV a second chance. I was one of the few who bought the CE of the first release.. and hated it, but the current build is surprisingly loads more fun (and stable!)

Yeah its worth it to at least give it a try and see what your opinion of it is. Though think you might like it as I do, its a huge improvement over the original game.

Ooh I'm on either Chocobo or Behemoth. Can't remember! Been a month since I played on the beta because of work! Hope that helps answer!

I use to play FFXI but I no longer have an Xbox360. Also no internet so that wouldn't help.

Awww I see. Well everyone is saying XIV realm reborn beta is good and that's coming to PS3 when it is officially released

I'm guesstimating late fall-early winter, myself. Who knows, I might be wrong, but that's what the rate of progress feels like. Nonetheless, FFVIX is looking like it'll be worth the wait.

I'm also quite mind blown that the game is truly cross platform, meaning that PS2, PC, and Xbox360 can all play together on the same server.

True, although they haven't released the last 2 expansions for PS2
