I'm so freaking mad at this person on DeviantArt.
And you know what? Since I don't think I can get in trouble here on FA for ranting about someone on DA, I'm going to!
Out of no where this girl (that I never liked from the beginning) sends me a note that reads:
"[link] <<< Red lined. I like your shading and work with faces. It's really gotten better =)"

So here's the conversation thus far:
Me: "You didn't get permission..."
JpopQueenie: "If it was done right the first time, I wouldn't NEED to redline it."
Me: "That's not the freaking point! It was MY artwork and you have NO right to use it for ANY reason unless you get permission. Wether my art was a piece of crap or a work of art doesn't matter"
Needless to say I've reported her already, so PLEASE don't go doing it again. Unless you want to. I can't stop you ;)
She gave me credit, sure, but she didn't ask for permission. I would NEVER approve of someone doing this.

Looks like whatever abomination was there, it is gone now... still, I'm going to go with the general notion that it WAS an abomination, against your will, and that all-in-all, I'm glad to not have seen it, or ever have a chance to see it.
Fanart is okay, but stealing the art itself so that they can "do better..?" Man, that's low. It's an insult actually, and I'm glad you reported this most grotesque of abuses.
It's really just a matter of bad form and bad ethics. Says alot about whoever does such a thing. A very grotesque and condescending gesture, if you ask me.
