Every artist appreciates them <3
I'm like... on a little spree.
I need me some animations in my life.
Good ones. Preferably ones that make me cry.
I like crying at stupid fucking animated movies (as long as no ones watching)
FEELS GOOD MAN.
One's I've already plowed through in the past few days:
HTTYD
Chicken Run
UP
Kung Fu Panda 2
Tarzan
Lilo and Stitch
Titan AE
TLK 2 (omg it was so bad) (although the animal flash mob was pretty funny)
Rio
Pokemon latios/latias (was pretty bad too but POKEMON IDGAF)
fANTASTIC FOCXS
monsters inc
fox n hound
I need moreeee!!! I'M HUNGRY.
TELL ME UR FAV ANIMATED MOOVIE
and rate is 1-5 in feels
1 being dry like yo pussy
and
5 being wet the ocean in your eyes.
Thank
I'll rate it 4
Grave of the Fireflies
rate 5
YES.
Look at that JUICY FIVER
TY
Just watched the fireflies.
My soul is injured. ;___; Ahhhh dammit
Mebbe later. I want my heart punched out!
- 1, no weepies but goddamn, it's fun
Secret of NIMH
- also giving it a 3
Lady and the Tramp
- 3-ish 'cause of that pound scene
Watership Down
- hovering between 3 and 4
The Plague Dogs
- 5
A I prepared for this???
But I dont recall what happens. They look so familiar! :0
Here's the uncut version on YouTube, just in case:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBxfOvx7QmU
I have the DVD but it's the slightly edited American version, since the uncut dvds wont work on US dvd players ;A;
Also seconding Jakkalstrou's recommending REDLINE, because holy shit is it great (but yeah, it's a 1 on the Feels Scale).
AND MEBBE. I'll watch it later. Looking for my heart to be put in a blender tonight.
Howls moving castle
The dog of flanders (1997)
NOT 2 NITE. I guess I watched it too much? Same wit Howls casssel. I used to watch the living fucks out of those movies. They're amazing but i think im burnt from them! haha
Never heard of the dog of flanders before though!
Monsters Inc. - 5 ;////;
Rock A Doodle - 2, I loved it when I was child
I dont remember crying over a cartoon... but I cryied a lot with Hachiko ;///;
Totally watched that the other night. Oh sweet delish emotions.
Adnnnnnddd now im reading all sorts of shit about this Hachiko dog now thx
;V; poor puppy
But uhh Paranorman if you haven't yet? I guess that has feels.
And I don't like this one because it decimates me with tears within 5 minutes, but The Fox and the Hound
BUT OTHERWISE:
The Hellboy animated movies (Blood & Iron, and Sword of Storms)
FERNGULLY do it
Disney's Hercules cause it's the most fun to sing along to
EVERYTHING. EVEYTHING. The story. The style. UHGUHGUHGUHGUHGGGG.
Was good.
OH! And I watched the fox n the hound recently! I just forgot. (later i'm gonna bring all my friend together and force them to watch it with me so I can see them cry horrible tears) MWUAHAH
And I didn;t know there were animated hellboys??? :0
NO FERNGULLY.
NO
Actually while we were drink at a friends house we started watching it but we all somehow forgot what we were doing and left???
HERCULES. THEM SONGS MAN.
I SUPPORT YOUR MOVIE CHOICES. GOOD. EXCEPT HIPPIGULLY. SCREW THEM FAERIES. GO SEXY SLUDEGE BEST WITH COOL THEME SONG.
The Hellboy movies are sweet, uhhh Sean Galloway did lots of the designs, it has a nice style thats like the comic enough, yet still it's own thing.
Plus they got Ron Perlman to voice Hellboy again 8D
OKAY I ONLY LIKE FERNGULLY FOR BATTY. And the big lizard. and the Raffi songs. Krista and Zack are just hilariously bad.
LET HAvE A MOVIE NIGHT. I'LL MAKE POPCORN.
BUT NOT REALLY.
POPCORN'S GROCE
Like. look at that. It's bizzare and disturbingly thin compared to how the other humanoid characters are stylized. And Im a fan of stylization, but damn.
For me, it's a solid 10. SUCH a great movie <3
SUPAH GAY
HAHA
I've seen it. The whole time I was like: "wow why am I having emotions to this I feel like such a loser no stop its cute NOOOO"
True story.
I don't think im ready for those emotions again. haha
Pokemon: The First Movie- 10/5 feels
It's a surprisingly brutal film about bunny rabbits.
5
-Felidae
3
Secret of NIMH
Watership Down
The Plague Dogs
All Dogs Go to Heaven
Secret of NIMH - 3
Watership Down - 3
The Plague Dogs - 5
All Dogs Go to Heaven - 5
The Last Unicorn - 3
I cried out of happiness and cried out of sadness because of that movie.
After it was over, I had a 5 minute break then thought about it again and had another crying session
6 OUT OF FIVE
ANIME DUCKS
THAT MOVIE MADE ME SO HAPPY YOU HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA
AND CHICKENS AND BIRDS
OF COURSE I LOVE IT
I have to recommend American Pop because there's not enough appreciation for that movie. And Secret of Kells is deliciously stylized animation mmm
note: I do not pretend to have any taste in movies whatsoever. i like some pretty dumbass movies. expect nothing
also. thanks for making this jorunal. i have being doing the exact same thing lately hence the longass list below.
Random 2D traditional:
Cat Soup (4) I think you'd like this movie. It's really hard to describe but it's kind of surreal eye candy. There are messages and a vague plot to the movie but most of it will just make your eyes orgasm. I LOVE this movie.
Iron giant (5) - best animated movie of the 90s. no question.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit (4.5) <33333
Fern Gully (3.5) - One of the only GOOD 2D animated Australian movies. haha. Tim Curry as Hexxus is the best thing about this movie.
Plague Dogs (4).. people have already mentioned it and.. it's one of those few movies were it's actually BETTER than the book. Just watch it!
Charlotte's web (3)... just memories man.. childhood feels
Fritz the Cat (3) - it's stupid but.. i love it <3
The Thief and the Cobbler (watch the re-cobbled version) (4) the animation in this movie... blows.. my ... fucking.. mind.
Cool World (2) Okay this MOVIE IS GOD AWFUL. but entertaining and some scenes are amazing to watch. it was basically a roger rabbit for adults. The animation and the backgrounds actually make me cry a little. It's so very creative, twisted and just so very fluid.
Rock & Rule (2) - the character design in this movie just makes me laugh. and how 80s it is. i just like it cuz i find it hilarious.. even when it's not meant to be.
The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue (3.5) okay so I love the original more, but everyone has listed it already. I just wanna say, I love this movie almost as much. I think I watched it about 100 times as a kid and while it's not as good as the first, it's not bad.. quite sweet.. and it actually has some pretty good music for a sequel.
Once Upon a Forest (3) again.. not the best movie (its kind of a don bluth rip off) but... childhood feels.
Rover Dangerfield (2) The movie in general and jokes and story are kinda terrible. BUT.. I do like the style of this movie hahaha
Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland (3.5)- I mostly like this movie because of it's insane history. Seriously, the movie is pretty good but a bit of a mess but like, some of the greatest and most random fuckin animators etc worked on (and left) this shit including: Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata, Brad Bird, Sherman Brothers, Jerry Rees (brave little toaster), Frank Thomas, Ollie Johnston.. Some people were approached to work on it and declined including: George Lucas and Chuck Jones. I mean wtf??? WHAT IS THIS AMAZING WONDERFUL HORRIBLE MOVIE! i will never understand it. anyway just watch it. it's got some good parts and it's animated pretty well.
Animal Farm (3).. it's kind of.. an awkward movie but, WORTH WATCHING I GUESS. i liked the book and some things are different but, it's alright!
Jungle Emperor Leo (3) - its cute.. i dunno.. it made me cry but i watched it ages ago and im a wimp so. YEAH. if you like kimba the white lion and haven't seen it, it's worth watching.
CGI Movies:
im just gonna list fairly recent ones and ones that haven't really been mentioned cuz eh.
Ratatouille (5) - is and will probably always be my favourite cgi movie.
Hotel Transylvania (3.5) - the animation in this movie is wonderful, its actually freakin hilarious at times too
The Croods (4) - I love chris sander's work and while i didn't like the croods as much as HTTYD, the visuals in this movie were fantastic and metaphors were touching and quite clever at times. Also eep has the most amazingly designed shape omg!! Chris sanders girls are the best. : D
Stop Motion
Secret Adventures of Tom Thumb (4) this movie aint for kids. And tbh, it's actually kind of hard to swallow at times. I really love this movie but I wouldn't' call it entertaining more "thought-provoking", "conceptually interesting", "meaningful". Everyone should try watching it though, it's a great movie with some powerful messages.
James and the Giant Peach (3.5) - tbh, i love all of Henry Selick's films hahaha.
Monkeybone (3.5) - If you liked coraline and you like (or can at least tolerate) Brendan Fraser then you'll like this movie. It's funny, well animated and while the plot is muddled and not always thought out all that well.. it's a really enjoyable movie.
ParaNorman (4) - this movie is great.. :D
Ghibli
NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind (4.5) - NNGGGGGG
Princess Mononoke (5) - my fav from ghibli
Ponyo (4) -... i .. really.. like ponyo. i dont think it's their strongest movie but.. istillloveit
The Secret World of Arrietty (3.5) - good movie :D
Bluth/Amblimation
Banjo the Woodpile Cat (3) - its too adorable.
The Secret of NIMH (4.5)
An American Tail - fivel goes west (3.5) - better than the first movie
We're back, a dinosaur story (3) - okay so this movie makes NO sense and that's why I love it. it's actually retarded
The Land Before Time (4) -... just... a classic.. -sheds tear-
All Dogs Go to Heaven (3)
Disney:
Alice in Wonderland (4) - yes.. i love this movie... i watched it so much as a kid you have no idea
the fox and the hound (5)
oliver and company!! (4)
The Great Mouse Detective (4) - isn't a favourite but i have to give it an honourable mention
beauty and the beast! (5)
mulan (4)
tarzan (4)
lilo and stitch!! (5)
The Emperor's New Groove (3.5) - again, not a favourite but always good for a laugh
SEEMS GOOD-SCALED but NOT FEELED
man i have only seen this movie once, yearsss ago.
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is a good movie with time shenanigans, and also the consequences of doing so. I'd give it a 4 also, wasn't my most favorite ever.
Summer Wars was a really good movie. The style, the conflict, the characters! Really good. I'll give it a 5.
Laputa: Castle in the Sky is a really good Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli film. I think it's less popular than the ones like Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. That one is definitely a favorite, it's got adventure, good characters, beautiful scenery, and it's just really good. Definitely a 5!
Toy Story trilogy: 2, 4, 5 (You will never not cry again after Toy Story 3)
