CENTRAL PLAINS FUR MEET IN TWO WEEKS, Y'ALL! IN WICHITA, KS!
(Well, technically it's at Lake Afton, KS, but... that's like 15 minutes from west Wichita, so same diff.!)
The awesome Central Plains Fur Meet is getting super close, though, guys!!
Less than TWO WEEKS AWAY!!
MAY 16TH-19TH!
This is the con that started it all, for me-- the convention that not only made ME realize how badass furries could be, but that also shed that same light on a bunch of my previously-anti-furry friends, who (EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE NOT FURRIES) are actually considering attending the convention, themselves, because of how AWESOME THESE PEOPLE ARE.
HOW ABOUT THAT FOR SOME CONVINCING?
IT'S LIKE THE BAPTISM OF CONVENTIONS
SO OURTAGEOUSLY RIGHTEOUS THAT NOT EVEN NORMIES CAN RESIST IT!
-- For real, though, it's going to be a MEGA FUN TIME.
There'll beeeee....
+ TONS of delicious food (seriously, if you're doubting the price at all: Your $15 gets you well over $30-worth of meals. If that ALONE isn't worth it then I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS)
+ Outdoor and Indoor activities galore
+ Fantastic panels by people like
and-- oh yeah--
, SINCE I'LL TOTES BE DOING AN ARTIST PANEL THAT'LL ROCK YOU ALL.
+ KICKIN' DANCE PARTIES. (The CPFM crew have the musical gear to hook you up, friends. THESE DANCES ARE NOT TO BE MISSED!)
+ THE COOLEST PEOPLE EVER
+ THERE WILL TOTALLY BE S'MORES. JUST SAYING.
To recap:
YOU WILL MAKE FRIENDS.
YOU WILL HAVE FUN.
YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
If you only go to one small furry gathering, this summer, MAKE IT CPFM.

Not as many cliques happening there, as opposed to the cons where it's easy to feel like your not part of the group. If you're there, you are very much a part of what's happening.
And I know, right?? I mean, don't get me wrong, I enjoy other cons, but... idk, man. I felt kinda detatched from people, a lot of the time-- even people that I'm generally pretty familiar with! Super lame!
CPFM AIN'T GOT NONE'A THAT!!
Especially not with me around, haha-- I always drag people into new groups, WHETHER THEY LIKE IT OR NOT. |D;
HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE, MAN??
See, I never have the funds for cons, either... Which is why I always VOLUNTEER.
At anime conventions and stuff, they seriously tend to treat their volunteers right. I always get free admission to the con, and- in the case of A-Kon in Dallas, TX they even hook volunteers up with a FREE HOTEL ROOM, TO BOOT!
-- SO UHH, IF YOU LIVE ANYWHERE NEAR TX... I CANNOT RECOMMEND A-KON ENOUGH. <3 It's one of the biggest (and the longest-running) cons in the country, is super fun and bustling with energy, has completely badass guests (THIS YEAR THEY HAVE FRIGGING LITTLEKURIBOH AND KATIE TIEDRICH, AKA AWKWARD ZOMBIE!!), and KNOWS HOW TO TREAT THEIR HELPERS. :3c
I've had less luck with furry cons (I.E. I've never seen a single furry convention that actually offers free admission THE YEAR YOU ACTUALLY VOLUNTEER), but, ehh... I've gotten some help paying my way in, so that's nice! Still, I'm not sure how many furry cons I'll actually pay to attend, given the pretty lousy volunteer appreciation I've seen.
ANYWAY.
UBUUUHHH. HAHAHA. WELL, I'LL SEE IF SOMEONE CAN RECORD IT!!
I don't have a video camera, myself, so I'll have to mention it to people beforehand to see what they can do. :V
YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO EXPERIENCE A CON, THOUGH.
THEY'RE SUPER AWESOME.
AND YES DUDE IT'D BE TOO COOL IF WE COULD MEET IN THE FLESH!!
WELL, I'm sure he'll do fine, if you do bring him!! Or, if you leave him behind, he oughta be fine as long as you leave him plenty of water!
EITHER OR.
P.S. Did I tell you about the other fuzzy squirmel I saw at Wild Nights?
IT WAS FAR LESS ADORABLE THAN THE HAMSTER OR MOTH.
I'm taking about that TARANTULA. >8C
THAT SQUIRMLE DESERVED TO BE ERADICATED.
I'M SO STOKED, MAN. AND IT'LL BE SUPER COOL CHILLING WITH YOU AGAIN, TOO!! (EVEN IF WE SEE EACH-OTHER RELATIVELY OFTEN, THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT ANY LESS SPECIAL!! HAHA!! )
