You don't purchase the software anymore. There is no initial multi-thousand dollar cost for things like Photoshop. You -only- pay the monthly subscription fee, and for many people, this is much more manageable than having to shell out huge bucks for something they might only use occasionally, relatively speaking. Upgrade costs are nil too, when there's a new version of software available.

I would assume there would be no "cellphone-like" contract. So If you know you aren't going to be needing it for a while, you can just not pay for that month. assuming you don't subscribe for a year.

That's a ridiculous sum of money. The original price of outright buying the program was also a ridiculous sum of money. If they really wanted this to work they should have offered an introductory fee of $50 or $75 then follow up with a subscription to the service for $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year. I wouldn't take it, but that is a much more palatable offer.

I never used their products to begin with so doesn't really affect me.

I happen to know a guy who knows a guy who has a tumblr who has a repost of a masterpost of download links for photoshop in all its glory and versions.

That is something I'm not sure of. But I suppose it could be a possibility. You would probably never be able to update your adobe software ever again for fear of this happening.

if it hapened.. i wonder how many lawsuits they would break doing that with their own older software XD
