even though she has aggression towards the other dog, could she be crated/fenced separately when you two are not there? or is that not possible?
or could you allow bonnie to stay with your parents while you live/work with your sister or something?

i could keep them separate i'm sure but my sister would never let her live there, she just flat-out said no. my sister likes bonnie but as far as she's concerned dog aggression is a euthanasia sentence.
my parents can't afford to keep her any more than i can unfortunately. they can barely afford their own dog because abbey has some health problems with her leg. they're really trying to help me out because they love bonnie almost as much as i do, mom actually bought dog food this last time because i couldn't afford it, but it's not something they can sustain. we can't even afford to keep our gas and cable bills paid.

I'm going through the same sort of situation... I need to find a home for one of my dogs, but one is DA and the other is reactive and extremely neurotic... I wish there were less pets to find homes for and more empty homes.

You might go on petfinder, look at rescues/shelters in your area, and email a bunch of them for assistance. They're usually full and can't actually TAKE a dog, but many of the ones in my area will provide help with feeding, vaccines, etc. I know the ones here don't give away the best dog food, but it's better than nothing. In that case, she may be able to stay with your parents until you can afford better arrangements.
You'd also be surprised how many "bully" mix rescues will help rehome dog aggressive pups... even if they're not whatever breed that the rescue specifically cares for. I hope you can work something out so you can keep her, though... I know how much she means to you, dude.

I've thought about contacting a rescue but Bonnie has issues with fear aggression directed at people, so it's not just a matter of dog aggression. She isn't blatantly vicious, she doesn't lunge at the sight of a stranger, but if she were to feel threatened and backed into a corner I haven't got even the slightest doubt she'd bite someone; she's tried. Generally this is more of an issue with people who aren't dog savvy because if you can read dog body language you can see her "go away" signals, she doesn't simply turn on a dime, but I'm paranoid to put her with anyone I don't personally know for certain can handle her. A town nearby has been pushing BSL which includes Dobermans (specifically, "pit bulls," Rottweilers, Dobermans, and wolf hybrids) and the last thing I want is for a Doberman attack to pop up in local headlines, and of course I don't want any human to be hurt by her.

Thanks for the suggestion of asking for help with dog food though. We're running out of meat for her and I can't afford even cheapo dogfood, I'm flat broke. If I can get some dog food from a rescue then I'm sure I can leave her with my parents; they don't mind holding on to her so I can stay with my sister a while, they just can't afford to feed her any more than I can.
