A General Update....

General
It's time for a bi-monthly update, I suppose.....April was horrible. First, I had a problem with my local tax office. They didn't have tax records for me for 2003-2005 (even though I filed properly and already responded to the same request for information back in 2009) so I lost a day and a half getting all that together for them. The woman I dealt with specifically told me, so I'm passing it on, that they're telling everyone to save their tax information for 10 years now. Yeah. I filed with H&R Block in '03 and even they had a really hard time retrieving my tax logs from that far back. So if you're thinking about cleaning out your file cabinet and wondering, "What can I get rid of.....", save the tax stuff.
(I will say this about H&R Block....the lady that helped me was very nice. She spent an hour working on the problem with me and didn't charge me anything, I was very grateful for that.)
Then a couple weeks later I received a letter from the federal government, they didn't like the way I claimed my commission earnings this year. Evidently the wording I used was misleading and they wanted to know if I owed more tax on it, lost another day dealing with that. I had to call them to ask a few critical questions and sat on hold for an hour and a half. I won't get my tax return until they decide whether or not my explanations were good enough, and the worst part is that I can't call either problem resolved, they'll either contact me again if it's still a problem or I just won't hear from anyone if everything's fixed.
Plus last month was really rainy and unusually cold (like, mid 30's) and since we have to work outside, I got royally sick and missed a day of work. Commissions have been going very slowly....my gift for Mom's Day is doing all her yard work so I've been spending a lot of time outside lately. It's almost done, thank the maker.
When I do finish the 2 commission images I'm currently coloring, I'm going to take a short break to get some long standing things done, like GoldFox's last Kurt vore pic and those 2 pages of the Oasis comic. Then I'm back on it.
I do have a tumblr now if anyone's curious: http://duoradon.tumblr.com/ It's all stuff I want to draw for yucks, no commissions. No porn either, sorry.
Have a good summer!

Now, if you see your name here and you're no longer interested for any reason, I'd really appreciate you letting me know; it would save me the trouble of trying to contact you when your name comes up. You can still sign up at a future opening if you want to.
If you are interested in getting a commission in the future, please note the changes I will have to make to accommodate my odd availability before I open again. (These DO NOT apply to the 11 people above....you should continue to use the rules and prices currently listed on www.duoradon.com).
1. Pricing changes.....it won't be a drastic hike, but most of my prices will increase somewhat before I open again.
2. I will start taking commission orders one at a time as opposed to making a queue. So: open commissions, take the first person to speak up, fill that order, then open for another, etc. Work will begin immediately, you won't be signing up to wait for your commission.
3. The time frame for submitting descriptions and payment will shorten. Instead of one month, a person who claims a commission spot will have 15 days to submit full description and payment or they forfeit their spot. Payments of $200 or less will be required up front, anything more than that can be paid 50% up front - 50% upon completion of sketches.
4. I will increase the price limit to accommodate the increase in rate, but each client will be restricted to one project per session. You may still order up to 6 comic pages, for example, but it must be for one continuous story, not 3 pages for comic A and 3 for comic B. So, one write-up only. The only exception: I will still accommodate up to 6 separate character studies with no backgrounds, but you should submit your descriptions for all characters in one e-mail, please.
If you have any questions, please feel free to voice them!
Again, thanks so much to everyone who has watched me this past month! *shakes paws*
When will there be more of this?
A word about my commissions: I get a lot of similar questions about the pictures I post here and on my site; people ask if I'm going to continue a certain comic series or take the project from line art to color in the near future. Please, read the description of the image; if it's listed as a "commission", that means someone paid me to draw it for them. I personally had nothing to do with the characters or what's happing in the picture/comic, I just drew what was described for me. If the person paid for 3 comic pages, we did 3. If they paid for line art only, that's what I did for them. I'm truly flattered that folks are so keen on these pieces, but it's not up to me in any way to make more for the set or scenario. If there is to be more added to a project, it's up to the person who bought it to commission more.
And in regard to making additions as a request instead of a commission, I regret that my financial situation will not allow me to take requests at this time. I can't even get my own projects done right now.

All I can say is that thank god you got someone willing to go the extra mile, the whole process is bad enough, to end up with a jobsworth at the end of it just makes me reach for the gun.
